MAILBOX SECURITY KIT
A security access control insert is provided for installation in curbside mailboxes. The security access control insert prevents tampering or theft of delivered mail. The security access control insert may be sold as part of a mailbox, or as a retrofit kit that may be added to a previously installed mailbox. The security access control insert provides a lockable door with a specific supplied access key. A second access key provided to an authorized mail carrier agency or delivery service may be a master key or passkey that is able to open many different customer mailboxes equipped with the security access control insert. The security access control insert may be formed of sheet-metal construction, aluminum, galvanized steel, or may be formed from molded plastic or composite materials. The security access control insert has a shape that matches the interior cross-section of the mailbox to which the insert will be installed.

Apparatus, systems and methods are provided that include a repository for receipt of an object and a mechanism for shielding from view the object. The repository may take the form of a mailbox and the object may be a letter, e.g., a letter addressed to Santa. The shielding mechanism is actuated by a trigger that is associated with the repository and, in exemplary embodiments, is triggered by an activity normally associated with the repository, e.g., raising a flag on a mailbox. The trigger actuation may interact with an electronic control system, a mechanical control system, or a combination thereof.
Secure mail and package storage apparatus
A secure mail and package storage apparatus for safely receiving mail includes a package housing that is secured to the ground and a lid coupled to the package housing that selectively closes a storage cavity. A lid lock locks and unlocks the lid. A CPU that is in operational communication with the lid lock has a transceiver that is configured to communicate with a smartphone. A mail tower with a mail door and a mail door lock is coupled to the package housing. A first keypad and a second keypod operate the lid lock and the door lock, respectively.

In order to reduce the associated cost and effort a vehicle (1) is drives to at least one receptacle (3) through public traffic at least in part and the at least one mailing to be delivered is taken from the vehicle (1) and placed into the receptacle (3) by a transfer device attached to the vehicle (1) and/or the at least one mailing to be collected is brought from the receptacle (3) to the vehicle (1) by the transfer device attached to the vehicle (1).
ECO FRIENDLY MAILBOX
An ecologically sound and environmentally friendly mailbox apparatus comprising a traditional mailbox; a shredding device affixed to the underside of the mailbox; a hollow tube, having a first end and a second end; a hollow receptacle for collecting shredded material, and that is connected to the shredding device by way of the hollow tube, where the first end of the hollow tube is connected to the shredding device and the second end of the hollow tube is directed downward and is connected to the receptacle; and a vertically positioned pole located adjacent to the mailbox and the receptacle, whereby the mailbox and the receptacle are individually connected to the pole by a fastening means that holds the entire apparatus together. This apparatus allows an end user to shred junk mail before leaving his mailbox and prevent clutter in his home.

The present invention is an improved door for rural mailboxes, comprising of a frame and door rotating inward and vertically downward, or just vertically downward, allowing access to the mailbox for depositing or removal of mail in one motion. The frame and door made of wood, metal, plastic, rubber or other materials can be made as part of a new mailbox or made as a complete assembly to be added to an existing mailbox. The frame comprises channels with springs to hold door closed. The door having pins or one rod horizontally mounted on the door or held on each side of the door by collars and springs also used to hold the door closed or move the door vertically and inward as it moves toward the bottom of the mailbox. The pins extend into the channels on the frame.
