A house number illumination device for lighting a house number on a mailbox includes a housing that defines an interior space. A power module is coupled to the housing and positioned in the interior space. Each of a plurality of fixtures is operationally coupled to the power module by a respective wire that extends from the housing. Each fixture is configured to couple to a surface proximate to a respective digit of a house number. Each fixture comprises a bulb so that the plurality of fixtures is configured to illuminate the house number.

A method of notifying an individual about an item in a secure mailbox is provided. The method includes receiving an indication that an item for an intended recipient has been deposited into a secure mailbox. The method also includes, based at least in part on receiving the indication, programming an access control device of the secure mailbox to unlock the access control device in response to a credential assigned to the intended recipient and notifying the intended recipient that the item is in the secure mailbox. It is detected that the secure mailbox has been unlocked in response to the credential that is assigned to the intended recipient. Based at least in part on the detecting, re-programming the access control device of the secure mailbox to an un-programed status that includes the access control device remaining in the unlocked state.

Disclosed herein is a system and device for a drone docking station for deposit of items delivered by drone. Items may include but not be limited to food items, groceries and parcels. A secure porch, roof, window or otherwise building mounted box may be secured through to an existing edifice or may be configured to mount to an existing mailbox post and actually take the place of the mailbox. The basic elements making of components of the box enable it to carry out one efficient and secure delivery of goods to a container box located at a specific address, and to securely hold those good until they are picked up regardless of duration, weather, or otherwise. The drone dock may employ many different technological devices in order to provide for communication between the drone dock and a drone, security, and preservation of the delivered goods before during and after delivery.
