IMPROVED PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF FUCOSYLATED OLIGOSACCHARIDES

The present invention relates to a method for producing fucosylated oligosaccharides by using a recombinant prokaryotic host cell that is cultivated on a gluconeogenic substrate, as well as to the host cell and its use. The host cell is genetically modified in that the activity of a fructose-6-phosphate converting enzyme is abolished or lowered, and the transport of the produced fucosylated oligosaccharide through the cell membrane is facilitated by an exogenous transport protein.

Production of Milk Oligosaccharides in Plants

Mammalian milk oligosaccharides (MMO) are produced in plants engineered to express recombinant MMO biosynthetic pathways.

Filamentous fungi having an altered viscosity phenotype

Described are compositions and methods relating to variant filamentous fungi having altered growth characteristics. Such variants are well-suited for growth in submerged cultures, e.g., for the large-scale production of enzymes and other proteins for commercial applications.

Described here are genetically modified microorganisms with reduced protease activity for the expression of recombinant proteins and without mucoid phenotypes. Also described are methods of making and using the same.

PAENIBACILLUS STRAINS PRODUCING LOW AMOUNTS OF EXOPOLYSACCARIDES

Disclosed are Paenibacillus strains comprising a reduced activity of a flippase PepR aflippase PepH, a mannose-1-phosphate guanylyl transferase and/or a levansucrase SacB. These Paenibacillus strains show lower viscosity when grown in liquid culture and agricultural compositions comprising these strains and methods of making and using these strains.
