System and method for controlling the flow of agricultural products from a variable-ratio blending applicator
An air manifold system for supplying an agricultural product to a plurality of metering devices comprises a product hopper having a product flow cavity, the product cavity separated from a first plenum by an air agitator sandwiched between the first plenum and the product flow cavity. The hopper comprises a plurality of nozzles extending through a wall of the hopper. A venturi assembly is in fluid communication with at least one nozzle. A first forced air stream flows through the first plenum and the air agitator into the product flow cavity to agitate and entrain agricultural product in the first air stream, and the first air stream carries the entrained agricultural product into the nozzles. A second forced air stream flows through the venturi assembly to accelerate the first air stream and the entrained product towards and through the supply hoses connected to the nozzles.
Seed flow regulator
A mini-hopper for an agricultural row unit that has a fill tube supplying material to a hopper. A backflow preventer is disposed in the fill tube or in a line to the inlet to prevent flow of material from the mini-hopper through the fill tube when the mini-hopper is in a transport position.
FLOW SPLITTER AND AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENTS HAVING FLOW SPLITTERS
A flow splitter includes a body having a generally cylindrical main passage therethrough oriented along a longitudinal axis of the body. The main passage connects an inlet at the upstream end to exactly three split passages adjacent the downstream end, each split passage connected to a corresponding outlet. A first and second of the three split passages are oriented along axes that intersect one another at a first acute angle in a common plane with the longitudinal axis. A third of the three split passages intersects the common plane at a second acute angle. An agricultural implement includes a frame, a toolbar carried by the frame and supporting a plurality of row units, a hopper carried by the frame, a primary flow line connecting the hopper to a flow splitter, and three secondary flow lines connecting the flow splitter to three of the row units.
SEED FLOW REGULATOR

The invention relates to a distributor (10) for granular material, having a distributor head (14), which is designed to divide up an air-material main flow supplied through a main conveying line (12) to the distributor head (14) into a plurality of air-material individual flows, and at least one return device (16), which comprises a movable deflecting element (36), which is designed, in a delivery position, to supply an air-material individual flow flowing into an inflow region (26) of the return device (16) to a delivery region (28), connected to a delivery line (18), of the return device (16) and, in a shut-off position, to direct an air-material individual flow flowing into the inflow region (26) of the return device (16) via a return line (30) of the return device (16) to a return region (32), connected to the main conveying line (12), of the return device (16).
Purging system for multiple variety seed meter
A purging system for a multiple variety seed meter of a multi-variety planter. The purging system includes seed return valves that may be arranged for receiving seed that was removed from the seed meter. The seed return valves return the removed seed into corresponding appropriate seed storage compartments to allow a new seed variety to be delivered to the seed meter while reducing seed variety mixing in the seed meter. A pipe with a purge passage may extend from the seed meter to a purging hose that delivers the removed seed to the seed return valve(s). Each seed return valve may be a vacuum-actuated piston airlock valve assembly with a valve plunger that reciprocates to define seed collecting and releasing states of the valve.
Multi-product sensing system for a common conduit of an agricultural product distribution system
An air cart for use in an agricultural air seeding system includes a first storage compartment for holding a first granular product type. The air cart also includes a second storage compartment for holding a second granular product type different from the first granular product type. The air cart further includes a common conduit configured to receive the first granular product type from the first storage compartment and the second granular product type from the second storage compartment to enable simultaneous flow of the first granular product type and the second granular product type. The air cart even further includes a multi-product particle flow rate sensing system configured to monitor respective flow rates for both the first granular product type and the second granular product type during simultaneous flow of the first granular product type and the second granular product type through the common conduit.
Mounting assembly for a product distribution system of an air cart
A product distribution system mounting assembly includes a first member configured to rigidly couple to a frame of an agricultural apparatus and a second member configured to rigidly couple to a plurality of tubular components of a product distribution system of the agricultural apparatus. The first member and the second member are configured to engage with one another to form a sliding interface that enables the plurality of tubular components to move along a vertical axis relative to the frame as the agricultural apparatus moves in a direction of travel through a field.
Sectional Control System For Delivery Of Agricultural Product According to Location
The present invention provides an agricultural delivery system which may selectively deliver agricultural product (e.g., seeds or fertilizer) along one or more paths to row units according to a real-time location determined for the delivery system. The delivery system may include: a rotating drum configured to separate individual product for depositing along paths to row units; a sectional control system which may include wheels or gates for selectively cutting off product in the paths; and a controller in communication with a positioning system and the sectional control system. In operation, as the delivery system moves through a field, the controller may continuously determine a location for the delivery system. The controller may then operate to adjust individual product delivery, via the sectional control system, according to the location.
Protective Wear Cover For Metering Unit
The present invention provides a protective wear cover which may be utilized in a metering device housing to protect the housing in an area which may be subjected to high impact by product flow. The protective wear cover may be installed inside the metering device housing at the venturi induction zone. The protective wear cover may be manufactured from a highly wear resistant material. The shape of the protective wear cover may be suited to conform to the metering device housing in the protected area to ensure a tight fit and negligible effect on air flow. This protective wear cover may therefore serve as a sacrificial barrier which prevents wear on the metering device housing and may be periodically replaced when worn. Replacing the protective wear cover negates the need to replace the whole metering device housing.
