EVALUATION SYSTEM AND EVALUATION METHOD
The evaluation system for evaluating a status of rumen fermentation in a ruminant includes an evaluation device that has an estimation unit for estimating a status of rumen fermentation in a ruminant based on a milk production record which indicates a milk yield and a milk component of milk produced by the ruminant. According to the evaluation system, it is possible to easily evaluate the status of rumen fermentation in the ruminant.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR INTRODUCING ORGANISMS INTO POPULATIONS
The invention relates, in part, to devices, systems and methods to increase the likelihood of survival and reproductive success of preselected organisms.
Devices for analyzing animal behavior
A device and method for detecting and recording animal behavior is provided. The device includes an enclosure having first and second chambers, each of the chambers having exterior panels formed of an opaque material, at least one image capture device disposed in each of the first and second chambers, the at least one image capture device arranged to capture behavior data of one or more freely roaming rodents, and a first container insertable into one of the first and second containers and positioned below a respective image capture device, the container having one or more corrals into which one or more rodents are housed during testing, the container being formed of a transparent material. In some embodiments, the first container is formed of a red transparent material, the one or more rodents being unable to see through the red transparent material.
RIDING SADDLE AND RIDING ACCESSORY
The invention relates to a riding saddle intended for being placed on the back of a horse, having at least one main mechanical connecting member, configured to engage with an auxiliary mechanical connecting member of a riding accessory and at least one electronic device. The riding saddle is characterized in that, as the auxiliary mechanical connecting member of the riding accessory comprises at least one auxiliary electrical connector, the main mechanical connecting member has at least one main electrical connector electrically connected to the electronic device by an electrical link, so as to ensure an electrical connection between the main electrical connector of the riding saddle and the auxiliary electrical connector of the riding accessory during the mechanical connection between the main mechanical connecting member of the riding saddle and the auxiliary mechanical connecting member of the riding accessory.
Livestock and feedlot data collection and processing using UHF-band interrogation of radio frequency identification tags for feedlot arrival and risk assessment
An agricultural data collection framework is provided in a system and method for tracking and managing livestock, and for analyzing animal conditions such as health, growth, nutrition, and behavior. The framework uses ultra-high frequency interrogation of RFID tags to collect individual animal data across multiple geographical locations, and incorporates artificial intelligence techniques to develop machine learning base models for statistical process controls around each animal for evaluating the animal condition. The framework provides a determination of normality at an individual animal basis or for a specific location, and generates alerts, predictions, and a targeted processing or application schedule for prioritizing and delivering resources when intervention is needed.
Adaptive sensor performance based on risk assessment
Methods to conserve a sensor's power include training a model to predict a condition of an animal with a training data set, wherein the training data set comprises known outcomes associated with behavioral data and health data for a plurality of animals; sensing, with a sensor worn by a monitored animal, behavioral data and health data of the monitored animal; inputting the behavioral data and health data of the monitored animal into the model; predicting a condition of the monitored animal with the model based on the inputted behavioral data and health data; and configuring a parameter of the sensor associated with the monitored animal based on the predicted condition.
METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC BEHAVIORAL PHENOTYPING
A method of identifying and classifying social complex behaviors among a group of model organisms, comprising implanting at least one RFID transponder in each model organism in said group of model organisms; enclosing said group of model organisms in a monitored space divided into RFID monitored segments; RFID tracking a position of each model organism by reading said at least one RFID transponder in each model organism over a period of time; capturing a sequence of images of each model organism over said period of time; and calculating at least one spatiotemporal model of each model organism based on time synchronization of said RFID tracked position of said model organism with said sequence of images.
Product and Method for Providing Enrichment and Facilitating Expression of Natural Behaviors in Pigs
The present invention relates to a formulation that can be utilised to facilitate expression of natural behaviour in pigs, and in particular sows and weaners and a method which utilises the formulation for the same.
SYSTEMS, METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR RODENT BEHAVIOURAL MONITORING
Systems, methods and devices are provided for the non-invasive behavioural monitoring of rodents within a rodent cage via the detection of interactions with a cage lid. A cage lid interaction sensor, positioned in close proximity to the cage lid, is employed to sense interactions with the cage lid. The resulting signals may be processed to determine a health status of the rodent. In some example embodiments, a lid sensing module is provided in that is configured for attachment to an existing rodent cage, permitting the insertion of the rodent cage into a cage rack after installation of the sensing module. In other example embodiments, a replacement cage lid is provided having an integrated lid interaction sensor and associated detection circuitry. Various example lid sensing modalities and associated sensor configurations are disclosed.
PRECISION WATER DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR INSECTS
A water delivery system for supplying water to an insect habitat. The water delivery system including a water tray equipped with a sensor to monitor an amount of water within a water tray. The sensor to cause water to be delivered to the water tray when the amount of water within the tray falls below a predefined threshold amount.
