Method and system for preventing and treating pests using smoke from biomass power plant
A method for pest control in a confined space using flue gas from a biomass power plant. The method includes: treating flue gas from a biomass power plant to yield treated flue gas having a volume concentration of carbon dioxide exceeding 85 volume %, and conducting pest control in a confined space according to the following steps: continuously aerating the confined space with the treated flue gas during a fallow period to allow a gas pressure in the confined space to reach between 0.110 and 0.140 megapascal of absolute pressure and the volume concentration of carbon dioxide in the confined space to reach between 50 and 90 volume %.
METHOD FOR THE PROPHYLACTIC TREATMENT OF A FOOD PRODUCT SILO
A method for the prophylactic treatment of the development of parasites in a food product storage silo, the food product storage generating the deposit of food product scraps and/or dust on the walls of the silo, said prophylactic treatment method comprising the application, to at least one part of the walls, of a layer comprising at least 10 g of mineral per m.sup.2 of wall, the mineral being chosen from: an alkali metal bicarbonate, an alkaline-earth metal carbonate, an alkali metal sulphate, an alkaline-earth metal sulphate, an alkaline-earth metal oxide, and mixtures thereof; the mineral being in the form of particles having an average diameter of at most 200 μm; and said method being characterized in that the application of the layer is carried out after emptying of the silo, on food product scraps and/or dust deposited on the walls of the silo.
VOLATILE FATTY ACID CONTROL
The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for treating volatile fatty acids and bacteria capable of producing volatile fatty acids. The compositions can convert acid-producing bacteria environments to nitrate-reducing bacteria environments. The compositions and methods can lower the amount of acid-producing bacteria present in the environment and thereby reduce the amount of volatile fatty acids present in the environment. The control agent may also inhibit the growth of acid-producing bacteria and volatile fatty acid concentrations. The compositions and methods can be used with any aqueous industrial system.
Stable liquid formulations of prothioconazole
A formulation comprising prothioconazole and a stabilizing amount of a transition metal salt, optionally a co-pesticide, optionally two co-pesticides, a process for the preparation thereof, a method of use thereof and kit comprising the components thereof is disclosed.

COMPOSITION AND APPLICATION METHOD FOR SURFACE TREATMENT OF CARPETS
A surface fiber treatment, carpets, carpet tiles, rugs and flooring systems prepared with the treatment and a method for applying the treatment for various purposes including pest control are provided. Pesticides such as diatomaceous earth, borax, and silicon dioxide are applied to a carpet backing in a manner that preserves fiber softness.
