A method of manufacturing a tip for use with smokable substances. A tube is rotated while applying heat in a horizontal and vertical direction to an end of the tube. The heated end is squeezed with rollers and while a rotating t-shaped plug is inserted into the heated end of the tube. The rollers and t-shaped plug are removed and a scoring wheel is applied to the tube to create a scratch. Then heat is applied to the scratch. An end of the tube is clamped with a rotating chuck and water is sprayed at the scratch to create a thermal shock which separates the tube into two pieces. Heat is applied to a section of one end of the pieces. Tapered rollers are applied to the heated section to taper a diameter of the piece along the heated section.

A method of manufacturing a tip for use with smokeable substances. A tube is rotated while applying heat to a section. The heated section is squeezed with tapered rollers and a pivoting rod is inserted. The rollers and rod are removed and heat is again applied. The heated portion is squeezed a second time with the tapered rollers and the rod is reinserted. The rollers and rod are removed and heat is again applied. The heated portion is again squeezed with the tapered rollers and the pivoting rod is again reinserted. The rollers and rod are removed and heat is applied to the end of the tube. The tube is scored above the end to form a scored line. Heat is applied to the scored line. Water is sprayed onto the scored line to split the tube into two pieces. Heat is applied to the tube at the split end.

An aerosol-generating article is provided for producing an inhalable aerosol upon heating, the aerosol-generating article including: an aerosol-forming substrate including a gel composition, the gel composition including at least one gelling agent, at least one of an alkaloid compound and a cannabinoid compound, and an aerosol former; an upstream element upstream of the aerosol-forming substrate; and a recess extending from an upstream end of the aerosol-generating article, through the upstream element, and through at least a portion of the aerosol-forming substrate, in which a longitudinal inner surface of the recess is provided with a wrapper.

An aerosol generating article includes an aerosol generator including a first aerosol generating material which does not include nicotine; a tobacco filler arranged adjacent to an end of the aerosol generator and including a second aerosol generating material including nicotine; a cooler arranged adjacent to an end of the tobacco filler and configured to cool aerosol; and a mouth piece arranged adjacent to an end of the cooler.

An aerosol-generating article is provided for producing an inhalable aerosol upon heating, the article including: a rod of aerosol-generating substrate; a downstream section at a location downstream of the rod and including an aerosol-cooling element in longitudinal alignment with the rod, in which the aerosol-cooling element includes a hollow tubular segment that defines a cavity extending all the way from an upstream end to a downstream end of the hollow tubular segment; and a ventilation zone at a location along the hollow tubular segment, the hollow tubular segment having a length of less than about 10 millimetres, in which a volume ratio between a ventilation airflow admitted into the article via the ventilation zone at the location along the hollow tubular segment and a sum of an airflow from the rod and the ventilation airflow is of from about 25 percent to about 45 percent.

An aerosol-generating device includes a housing having a first end defining a mouthpiece, a second end, and a cavity defined between the first end and the second end. The device also includes a reservoir within the cavity. The reservoir is configured to store a liquid aerosol-forming substrate. The device also includes an atomizer and a valve within the mouthpiece of the housing. The valve has a first side and an second side. A method of constructing a cigar includes the providing of a plurality of frusto-conically shaped tubes, each tube being of a smokable material such as a spirally wrapped layer of tobacco material. The tubes are nested, one tube inside the other tube. The nested tubes are then attached to a mouthpiece having a socket that is internally threaded. The nested tubes and mouthpiece are packaged either filled with tobacco filler material, partially filled, or unfilled in a container.

The present invention relates to an aerosol-generating article used together with an aerosol-generating device including a cigarette rod having a cavity segment filled with tobacco granules; and filter rod positioned downstream of the cigarette rod, wherein the cigarette rod includes a flavoring source.
