A sensory stimulating garment for engaging the senses of an infant includes an upper body portion defining a head opening and a lower body portion having a pair of leg members. A zipper is in operative communication with the upper and lower body portions, the zipper having a slider engaged with a plurality of teeth and configured to open the garment from the leg opening to adjacent the head opening. A first sensory member is positioned on the upper body portion adjacent the head opening that includes a first tactile surface and a second tactile surface different than the first tactile surface. Additional sensory members may be positioned on the upper body portioneach having tactile characteristics different than any other sensory member so as to stimulate different tactile senses of an infant who may touch them while wearing the garment.

The moisture management material may be of various shapes and sizes and preferably fits within a prescribed area of the article of clothing. The moisture management material may be variably positioned within the article of clothing to provide differing results such as additional support and/or moisture absorbing or moisture moving where necessary. Preferably the article of clothing is a brassiere but may be a shirt, diaper, pants, socks, panties, or other undergarments.

An apparel item configured to reduce the perception of cling is provided herein. The apparel item comprises a first set of outwardly-projecting nodes on a first portion of the apparel item, a second set of outwardly-projecting nodes on a second portion of the apparel item, and a third set of inwardly-projecting nodes on a third portion of the apparel item, where the third set of nodes is positioned between the first set of nodes and the second set of nodes. The first and second sets of outwardly-projecting nodes comprise apertures that provide a communication passage from an outer surface of the apparel item to an inner surface of the apparel item. Besides reducing the surface area of the apparel item that comes into contact with a wearer's skin surface, the nodes also facilitate cooling the wearer and speed up drying times of the apparel item when being worn.

The sling assembly configuration can further provide moisture management to reduce itching, chafing, and infection.

Garment waistband system and method

A waistband for use in a garment is provided. The waistband may have a flexible body including a first portion imparted with a first width dimension, a second portion imparted with a second width dimension, and a transition portion imparted with a third width dimension. The transition portion may be disposed between the first portion and the second portion. The first width dimension of the first portion may be less than the second width dimension of the second portion. Further, the third width dimension of the transition portion may be no greater than about the second width dimension.
