Wedge for use with batting glove or bat for improved batting performance
A “Power Wedge” can be inserted into a pocket of a batting glove, or used separately. The wedge can include an elongate generally teardrop shape, with an interior face that is convexly curved, defining a trough with a curvature that corresponds to the curvature of a bat handle. The wedge can include one or more tethering loops anchored inside the wedge. Such loops may extend from the wedge out the top end of the wedge. A tethering loop can also be provided extending out the bottom tapered end of the wedge, as well. Such loops may be wrapped around the thumb, index finger, and/or wrist of the user. Such tethers can also be wrapped around the bat handle. Such tethers are particularly helpful if the wedge is not received into pocket of a batting glove. The wedge can also be used with golf gloves and golf clubs.
VIRTUAL AND AUGMENTED REALITY GLOVE AND METHOD
A sensory feedback system for managing and controlling the virtual interaction between a user and a central processing unit is provided. The sensory feedback system includes a central processing unit, a glove, a sensor system, and a microcontroller. The glove has a palm portion, a dorsal portion, and at least one finger member having a top side and a bottom side. The sensor system includes at least one flex sensor secured to the at least one finger member, a set of input and output sensors secured to the glove and the at least one finger member, and an inertial movement unit secured to the dorsal portion of the glove. The microcontroller is secured to the dorsal portion of the glove and facilitates transmission of signals between the sensor system and the central processing unit.
Grip Assist Apparatus with Spine Insert
A grip assist apparatus for weightlifting that includes a gripping portion with spine insert that is sufficiently pliable to be bent to allow a user to reach the end with their fingers and wrap the gripping portion around an axle bar but sufficiently resilient to substantially return to its starting position after the gripping portion is released.
Glove preventing hyper-extended or jammed fingers
A glove used in sports such as football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, snowboarding or motorcycle riding or work such as construction or heavy machinery operation that includes stiffening components attached on top of each finger portion of the glove and anchored beyond the base knuckle on top of the glove to prevent the fingers from hyper-extending or jamming and creating a protective exoskeleton for the entire hand while minimally affecting the degree of freedom and range of motion for the fingers. Each stiffening component is comprised of multiple slits or hinges as well as a sliding swivel pivot hinge which allow the stiffening components to bend in unison with each finger but lock in place to form a solid element and prevent the fingers from hyper-extending when the finger and its accompanying stiffening component are straightened.
BALL GLOVE WITH ONE-PIECE BACK SIDE SKIN
A ball glove for baseball, softball and other sports includes a one-piece back side skin composed of a one-piece pre-formed member, which eliminates stitching and joining of back side skin parts with welting. The back side skin includes openings in the hinge zones and in the vicinity of finger crotches between respective fingers for easy close/open function and better control of the ball caught in the ball glove. In the finger zone of the back side skin, apertures, elevated lines, or combination thereof are formed. The combination of the apertures and elevated lines allows for a more coordinated bending action of the fingers when catching the ball. It also gives the glove the balance of the right softness, which is neither too stiff nor too soft.
Orthopedic wrist brace and splint
An orthopedic cock-up wrist brace and splint for people with arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, sprains, fractures, tendonitis, repetitive strain injury, osteoporosis, or other wrist injury. The splint having a specially designed hourglass shape formed using medical fit data in addition to established sizing data and refined after comprehensive studies and testing. The splint supplied as a stand-alone product or as part of a wrist brace system.
CRAWLING GLOVES
A glove includes a fingerless glove body having a stiffener between the thumb and pointer finger to prevent a person from picking up objects between the thumb and pointer finger and putting them into her mouth. A brace is also provided to prevent the wearer from touching the palm of the glove with their fingers to further prevent a person from pickup up objects by making a first and putting the objects into her mouth. The glove further provides abrasion resistance and slip resistance, such as for a crawling baby.
Hand and thumb protection and support for an athletic glove
An athletic glove having an inner glove with one or more protective members is discussed. Protective members may include metacarpal support members attached to the dorsal side of the inner glove configured to protect at least a portion of a metacarpal bone of the human hand; volar and dorsal metacarpal support member attached to the volar and dorsal sides of the inner glove, respectively, and configured to protect at least a portion of a carpometacarpal joint, a metacarpal bone, a metacarpal joint, and a proximal phalanx of a thumb of the human hand; and volar and dorsal distal phalange support members attached to the volar and dorsal sides, respectively, of the inner glove and configured to protect at least a portion of a distal phalanx of the thumb of the human hand. Optionally, the inner glove may include a protective strap.
Hand orthoses
Hand orthotics are provided for protecting and/or supporting phalanges, metacarpals and/or ligaments of the hand providing thin, lightweight, moldable devices that form to the digits of and to the hand to provide shock absorption and limited range of motion in flexion and extension movements of the digits of the hand, but mitigate or prevent hyperextension. Each orthotic has several plates of thermal plastic, pre-molded carbon fiber or the like that are generally, if not entirely, inflexible and interlinked through limited range of motion hinges, overlapping, and/or abutting plates that accommodate stability and protection. The plates are contained within, on top, underneath, or permutations of these, a form fitting material (e.g. neoprene or vinyl) to maintain a tight fit to the hand, digits and wrist. A thumb plate is hinged to an upper or lower hand plate of the device and includes a loop for receiving the thumb.
