Milanese band

A metallic mesh material used to form a portion of a band or securing strap for a wearable electronic device. The band may include a magnetic tab for securing a wearable device to the wrist of a user. The tab may include one or magnetic elements that are configured to engage a surface of the mesh to secure the wearable device to the wrist of a user.

Self stopping bead with outer shell and inner resilient tube

A method of making a self-stopping bead for jewelry. The method comprises the steps of: inserting a resilient tube with an axial passage lengthwise into a relatively rigid tube having a longitudinal axis; deforming the rigid tube inward toward said axis at at least first and second spaced-apart locations along said axis until the rigid tube is necked down at said locations enough to pinch the resilient tube at a depression; and severing the rigid tube and the resilient tube at said depressions thereby forming a self-stopping bead with opposing holes wherein during the step of deforming, the rigid tube and the resilient tube are pinched off so that each hole in the bead receives therein an end of the resilient tube so that the resilient inner tube has a length substantially the same as an axial length of the self-stopping bead between the opposed bead holes.

Multicolored Flexible Wearables and Related Methods

Multicolored flexible wearables include a first portion having a first flexible polymer forming a toroid and including colorant(s), an exposed first outer surface, an exposed second outer surface, and a recess in the first outer surface not reaching the second outer surface. A second portion formed of a second flexible polymer fills a majority of the recess and includes colorant(s). The first and second flexible polymers have different colors and are permanently bonded together. Precious material particles may be disposed within the first and/or second flexible polymers. One or more of the colorants may have a color matching a color of the precious material particles. One method of bonding the portions includes depositing a liquid second portion into the recess and then curing it. Another method includes depositing a solid second portion into the recess and then curing a liquid layer of polymer between the first portion and second portion.

Heat-resistant synthetic jewelry material

A heat-resistant synthetic jewelry material having a transparent, semitransparent or nontransparent composite nanocrystalline material on the basis of nanosized oxide and silicate crystalline phases. The material includes at least one of the following crystalline phases: spinel, quartz-like phases, sapphirine, enstatite, petalite-like phase, cordierite, willemite, zirconium, rutile, zirconium titanate, zirconium dioxide with a content of ions of transition elements, rare-earth elements and precious metals of from 0.001 to 4 mol %. One of the crystalline phases is additionally quartz-like solid solutions of lithium magnesium zinc aluminosilicates with a virgilite or keatite structure. The composition is selected from the following components,s SiO.sub.2, Al.sub.2O.sub.3, MgO, ZnO, Li.sub.2O, PbO, ZrO.sub.2, TiO.sub.2, NiO, CoO, CuO, Cr.sub.2O.sub.3, Bi.sub.2O.sub.3, Fe.sub.2O.sub.3, MnO.sub.2, CeO.sub.2, Nd.sub.2O.sub.3, Er.sub.2O.sub.3, Pr.sub.2O.sub.3 and Au.

Device for forming Brunnian links

A Brunnian link is a link formed from a closed loop doubled over itself to capture another closed loop to form a chain. Elastic bands can be utilized to form such links in a desired manner. The example loom provides a device for holding elastic bands in place to enable the creation of a Brunnian linked article.

A timepiece (1) having at least one colored transparent stone (10), and a support (20) with at least one opening (200) for receiving this colored transparent stone (10). The ratio between the height (h) and width (L) of the colored transparent stone (10) is less than 50% , and the support (20) is made from anodised titanium or anodised aluminium. Advantageously, the color of the colored transparent stone (10) in the timepiece (1) is enhanced by that of the support (20).
