A medical equipment adaptable travel restraint system includes a number of features to support transportation and use of durable medical equipment including crash-safe transportation in a vehicle, vehicle-to-site transportation by a user for deployment, and operation of the durable medical equipment by the user without removal from a carrier of the medical equipment adaptable travel restraint system.

Systems, devices and methods to improve safety and efficiency in an operating room comprise providing a suture package that holds new suture needles and needle receptacles for storing used needles. The devices can be safely worn for the surgeon to self-dispense new suture needles in the near surgical field and to secure the used needles into a needle trap or a needle retainer located on his extremity, on his operative instruments or on the surgical drapes. The device may provide automated and/or simplified needle counting both during use and after removal from the surgical field. The device may be configured for ergonomic and efficient use so as to minimize the actions and motions of the surgeon to dispense and secure the needle.

A modular case includes: a base having opposing side rails formed along sides of the base, the side rails forming elongate channels therein; a plurality of container modules removably secured on the base, the plurality of container modules having a base plate having a width extending across a width of the base such that sides of the base plate fit within the elongate channels formed by the side rails of the base, one or more containers formed on the base and extending upwardly therefrom, the one or more containers including an open end, and one or more caps secured to the one or more containers over the open end. A method for making and assembling personal hygiene material containers whereby a cap and core are provided; a lid is disposed at the cap; the cap is then placed with the lid onto the core; situating a leakage prevention insert within the core; and situating a hygiene material elevator within the core. The leakage prevention insert possesses a circumference greater than that of the core such that upon insertion of the leakage prevention insert into the core an overhang is created along the entirety of the leakage prevention insert's circumference, where the overhang creates a complete and tight seal by creating an abutment with the inner wall of the core. The abutment thereby prevents the leakage of hygiene material during the manufacture fill process when the hygiene material is in its liquid form.

The technology provides for an extension member configured to direct a magnetic field from a magnet to a Hall Effect sensor to facilitate detection of magnetic field. By varying the dimensions of the extension member, which may be any arbitrary shape, the relative positions of the magnet and the Hall Effect sensor may be less constrained by the reach of the magnetic field of the magnet, thereby allowing more design possibilities. The extension member may be used in a case, where the extension member may facilitate detection of whether the case is open or closed, the extension member may further provide magnetic attraction to keep the case closed.

In one embodiment, the method includes receiving user information from a user, including information about the user, the user's family, and the user's home or residence. Based on the received user information, the method further includes generating a customized go-bag for the user that includes contents specific for the user to use in an emergency situation. The method also includes providing the customized go-bag to the user.
