A novelty nail trimming tool 10 includes a metal chassis 11 comprising a base 12 a neck section 13 and a head section 14. The head section 14 includes a pair of guards 15 and 16 which are also configured as the eyes or feelers of a snail. The base 12 has a knurled or roughened surface 17 forming a nail file. The head 14 has a v-blade 18, while the neck 13 is set at an angle of about 30 degrees to the base. A handle 19 in the form of a snail shell 20 is attached to the base 12 by a hand insertable clip action into three slots 21, 22 and 23 by reason of upturns 24, 25 and 26 in the base 12.

Trimming shears to cut an animal claw comprising a first body and a second body pivotally coupled about a pivot axis, in a pivot plane, a blade having a cutting edge, the blade movable in a blade plane along a blade path, in response to pivotal movement of the first body and/or the second body, wherein the blade plane is transverse to the pivot plane, a guide coupled to the first body, the guide movable in a guide plane along a guide path, wherein the guide plane is substantially parallel to the blade plane and the guide having a plurality of apertures extending through the guide, and wherein each aperture of the guide is positionable relative to the cutting edge of the blade such that, when the blade is moved from a retracted position to an extended position, the cutting edge cuts a claw when disposed in each aperture, respectively.

As shown in one preferred embodiment, a two-blade vice-type nail clipper comprising a thin safety-cover-guard with ergonomic upward angle and wrap-around safety edges, that is permanently mounted just below said nail clipper's lower cutting blade and that follows or mirrors the shape of said nail clipper's lower cutting surface, including wrapping around the sharp sides, corners and edges of said lower cutting surface, so as to provide an industry advancing level of nail cutting safety with minimal invasiveness.

As shown in one preferred embodiment, a two-blade vice-type nail clipper comprising a thin safety-cover-guard with ergonomic upward angle and wrap-around safety edges, that is permanently mounted just below said nail clipper's lower cutting blade and that follows or mirrors the shape of said nail clipper's lower cutting surface, including wrapping around the sharp sides, corners and edges of said lower cutting surface, so as to provide an industry advancing level of nail cutting safety with minimal invasiveness.

A toenail trimmer is configured to aid elderly and flexibility-challenged individuals, and includes: a housing with an opening; a cutting member mounted within the housing with a portion proximate to the opening; a motor to drive the cutting member to remove a portion of a toenail inserted through the housing opening; and a shaft, with the housing positioned proximate to a first end of the shaft. The shaft includes a support member, such as a cuff, that is configured to releasably secure a first portion of the shaft to the user's upper arm, and an ergonomic handle portion configured for grasping by the user's hand. The ergonomic handle portion and the support member provide stable support for the toe nail trimmer at two positions with respect to the user's arm during use of the toe nail trimmer. The handle may cooperate with a base to provide support/guidance thereto.

A toenail trimmer is configured to aid elderly and flexibility-challenged individuals, and includes: a housing with an opening; a cutting member mounted within the housing with a portion proximate to the opening; a motor to drive the cutting member to remove a portion of a toenail inserted through the housing opening; and a shaft, with the housing positioned proximate to a first end of the shaft. The shaft includes a support member, such as a cuff, that is configured to releasably secure a first portion of the shaft to the user's upper arm, and an ergonomic handle portion configured for grasping by the user's hand. The ergonomic handle portion and the support member provide stable support for the toe nail trimmer at two positions with respect to the user's arm during use of the toe nail trimmer. Apparatuses disclosed herein aid in shearing animal claws. Specifically, the present invention provides a shearing apparatus having at least one curved blade, but preferably two curved blades, allowing cutting of the animal's claw from opposite sides of the animal's claw, and at least one well for placing the animal's claw therein, wherein said two curved blades are disposed at an aperture located at the bottom of the well. The well and aperture combination stops the animal's claw from being sheared too close to nerve endings and the animal's blood supply, preventing or minimizing the incidence of injury and suffering to the animal. Methods of using the apparatus are further disclosed herein.

Apparatuses disclosed herein aid in shearing animal claws. Specifically, the present invention provides a shearing apparatus having at least one curved blade, but preferably two curved blades, allowing cutting of the animal's claw from opposite sides of the animal's claw, and at least one well for placing the animal's claw therein, wherein said two curved blades are disposed at an aperture located at the bottom of the well.
