An oral care regimen where a user applies a first composition and a second composition to the oral cavity. The first composition can be a dentifrice and can contain stannous fluoride and the second composition can be a dentifrice and can contain hydrogen peroxide. The regimen can provide a long-lasting clean feeling. Compositions and methods for improving compliance with a two-part oral care regimen may include the use of a first composition with mildly unpleasant organoleptic properties.

A brush, particularly a toothbrush, includes a head part with a cleaning structure that includes bristles, a hand part and a neck part, a cavity including at least one outlet opening for an active substance being located in the head or neck part. In one embodiment, the cavity incorporates an active substance element, containing the active substance in a carrier material and releases said substance in a controlled manner when it comes into contact with water. In another embodiment, the cavity is adapted to the shape of an active substance element through defined external contours. The volume of the cavity is preferably 1-2 times and no more than 4 times greater than the volume of the active substance element, ensuring that the latter is preferably surrounded by water during use.
