A robot cleaner includes a main body forming an exterior and having a water tank housing formed at a rear side thereof. The water tank housing may form a space in which a water tank is mounted. At least one spin mop is rotatably provided at a lower side of the main body, moving the main body by rotating, and configured to clean a floor using water in the water tank. A supply nozzle is provided at one side of the water tank housing, and when connected to a discharge nozzle of the water tank, communicates with the discharge nozzle to supply water stored in the water tank to each of the spin mops. The robot cleaner further includes a locking device rotatably provided at a position spaced apart from a circumferential surface of the water tank housing, and configured to secure the water tank in the water tank housing when mounted or to release the water tank by pushing backward on the water tank.

A method of controlling the robotic floor cleaning machine is disclosed that includes sensing, by a sensor on the robotic cleaning machine, an object within a sensed field. The method further includes determining, by a safety controller on the robotic cleaning machine, whether the object is an immovable object (such as a wall), and deploying an extendable cleaning element to clean the floor surface up next to the wall. The method can further include deploying the extendable cleaning element such that the extendable cleaning element is in contact with and cleans the floor up to an edge of the immovable object. Additionally, the method can include determining that the object is a movable object (such as a living thing) and preventing the extendable cleaning element from extending such that the robotic cleaning machines does not contact the movable object.

A mobile cleaner includes a body, a mop module, and a sweep module. The mop module includes a pair of spin mops configured to rotate and mop a surface. The sweep module is configured to sweep up foreign material on the surface using a rotating agitator. The sweep module includes a dust housing, the agitator, and a wheel assembly. The wheel assembly is configured to support the dust housing on the surface and includes a wheel body that is movable in a vertical direction. A cliff sensor is configured to detect movement of the wheel body.

A mobile cleaner includes a body, a mop module, and a sweep module. The mop module includes a pair of spin mops configured to rotate and mop a surface. The sweep module is configured to sweep up foreign material on the surface using a rotating agitator. The sweep module includes a dust housing, the agitator, and a wheel assembly. The wheel assembly is configured to support the dust housing on the surface and includes a wheel body that is movable in a vertical direction. A cliff sensor is configured to detect movement of the wheel body.

A surface cleaning apparatus is provided with a dispensing system for applying a treating agent stored on the surface cleaning apparatus to the surface to be cleaned. The dispensing system can include at least one container for storing a supply of treating agent and a dispenser for dispensing the treating agent to the surface to be cleaned.
