A dishwashing appliance may include a cabinet, a tub, a spray assembly, a drain pump, a turbidity sensor, and a controller. The tub may be positioned within the cabinet and defining a wash chamber for receipt of articles for washing. The spray assembly may be positioned within the wash chamber. The drain pump may be in fluid communication with the wash chamber. The turbidity sensor may be mounted within the cabinet. The controller may be in operative communication with the turbidity sensor and the drain pump. The controller may be configured to initiate a wash operation. The wash operation may include initiating a rinse cycle, obtaining an image of the wash chamber, determining calibration viability for the turbidity sensor based on the obtained image, and adjusting a calibration state of the turbidity sensor based on the determined calibration viability.

Systems and methods for wash monitoring

A wash monitoring system including a water flow meter that transmits water flow readings of flow through a water line, chemical conduits with color sensors on the chemical conduits and configured to transmit color readings of a chemical within the chemical conduits, and chemical flow meters on the chemical conduits that transmit chemical flow readings of flow through the chemical conduits. The system includes a memory containing processor-executable instructions that cause processors to compare the water flow readings with a range of water flow readings, compare the chemical flow readings with a range of chemical flow readings, compare the color readings with a range of color readings associated with each of the one or more chemical conduits, and initiate an alarm if one of the water flow readings, the chemical flow readings, or the color readings are not within the respective ranges of readings.

System with a dishwasher and method for operating a dishwasher

The present disclosure relates to a dishwasher. The dishwasher according to an embodiment comprises: a tub having a washing room, in which an object to be washed is accommodated, formed therein; a nozzle which is arranged in the washing room and sprays washing water to the object to be washed, and includes a magnetic body at one end thereof; a coil which his formed to surround a region corresponding to a movable range of the nozzle, and through which an electric current flows according to the rotation of the nozzle; and a controller which controls an operation of the nozzle according to an operation command, and determines an operating status of the nozzle on the basis of a value of the voltage generated in the coil.

Detecting current leakage in a heating element

Systems and methods of detecting current leakage in a heating element are provided. An alternating current signal can be applied to the heating element. The heating element can have an associated line relay and an associated neutral relay coupled to a line terminal of the heating element and a neutral terminal of the heating element, respectively. A control system can be configured to control a sequence of operations of the line and neutral relays such that the magnitude of a leakage current flowing through the heating element to ground is increased. Such increased magnitude can facilitate detection of the leakage current. The detected leakage current can be compared with a leakage threshold. The control system can cease the operation of the heating element if the leakage current is greater than the leakage threshold.
