INTRA-ORAL SCANNING DEVICE

An intra-oral scanning device includes a light source and an optical system, and communicates with a display system. The device has a reduced form factor as compared to prior devices, and it provides for more efficient transmission and capture of images.

MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM

An endoscope system sequentially acquires a plurality of endoscopic images by continuously imaging an observation target. A recognition processing unit detects, from the acquired endoscopic images, regions including a lesion portion as regions-of-interest. A recognition result correction unit corrects a position of the region-of-interest of the specific image by using a position of the region-of-interest of a previous image acquired before the specific image and a position of the region-of-interest of a subsequent image acquired after the specific image.

Wireless needle guidance using encoder sensor and encoder scale to achieve positional sensing between movable components

One or more devices, systems, methods and storage mediums for performing medical procedure (e.g., needle guidance, ablation, biopsy, etc.) planning and/or performance, and/or for performing guidance of multiple probes or multiple needles, are provided. Examples of applications for such devices, systems, methods and storage mediums include imaging, evaluating and diagnosing biological objects, such as, but not limited to, lesions and tumors, and such devices, systems, methods and storage mediums may be used for radiotherapy applications (e.g., to determine whether to place seed(s) for radiotherapy). Even in instances where communication between a medical tool or needle guidance device and a system is wireless or wired, preferably guidance information is still gathered and transmitted, especially in instances where wireless or wired communication signals are intermittent or interrupted.

An endoscope processor allows the user to easily confirm the setting state of functions. The endoscope processor includes: a processor executing program code to perform: displaying, by the processor, on a touch panel a plurality of custom buttons each having a function description section describing a function operable by a user and a state section indicating a state of the function; and accepting, by the processor, an operation performed on the custom buttons displayed. The function description section includes an icon section illustrating the function and a name section indicating a name of the function in text form.

PHOTOBIOMODULATION OF THE GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT

Devices, systems, and methods can be used to deliver photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) to the GI tract. For example, this document describes battery-enabled LED light source devices that can be deployed through or over an endoscope and anchored directly to the GI tract. Significant systemic effects can be produced by PBMT with application to one part of the body promoting beneficial anti-inflammatory and metabolic benefits in other remote sites promoted by enhanced mitochondrial function and mitokine signaling.

Endoscope and endoscope sheath with diagnostic and therapeutic interfaces

A removable and replaceable sheath may be coupled to a medical instrument used during a procedure, and may enable one or more functional features of the medical instrument while maintaining a sterile barrier between the instrument itself and the treatment site. The sheath may be replaced prior to a subsequent use, and sterilization of the medical instrument is not required due to the sterile barrier. Sheaths may include an embedded memory that stores procedure configurations and procedure results, longitudinal channels for delivering power or irrigation, optical elements for providing procedure specific endoscopic views, and other features. One sheath may be fitted to an endoscope for imaging and tissue ablation. Another sheath includes a balloon usable during sinuplasty procedures. Yet another sheath may be fitted to a sonic ablation instrument to provide improved transmission of sonic power to tissue.

Endoscope Imaging Device

An endoscope includes a detachable wireless imaging device and an insertion tube having a distal end region. The attachment of the detachable wireless imaging device detachably attaches the detachable wireless imaging device to the distal end region of the insertion tube.

Method and Apparatus for Leveraging Residue Energy of Capsule Endoscope

Method for leveraging battery residue energy and a capsule endoscope using the method are disclosed. The capsule endoscope is capable of performing one or more functions at a first throughput or a first peak current when the battery has sufficient energy. According to this method, whether the battery energy is sufficient is determined. Upon determining the battery energy being insufficient, at least one function of the one or more functions is performed at a second throughput lower than the first throughput, or at least one function of the one or more functions is switched to another function requiring a second peak current lower than the first peak current

MULTIMODAL INTRAORAL SCANNING

A method of multimodal scanning may include generating surface scan data of an intraoral structured using structured light. The method may include generating volumetric scan data of an internal structure of the intraoral structure with OCT scanning. The OCT scan data may be aligned with the surface scan data. A three-dimensional volumetric model of the patient's dentition may be generated based on the aligned OCT scan data and the surface scan data.

Systems and methods for visualizing ablated tissue

Systems and methods for visualizing ablated tissue are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system for imaging tissue comprising: a catheter having a distal end and a proximal end; an inflatable balloon disposed about the distal end of the catheter; and an optical housing extending from the distal end of the catheter into the balloon, the optical housing being configured to position inside the balloon a light source for illuminating a tissue outside the balloon and a camera for imaging the illuminated tissue.
