CANNULA ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A LENS CLEANING ASSEMBLY
A cannula assembly includes a housing, an elongate shaft extending from the housing, and a lens cleaning assembly detachably coupled to a distal end portion of the elongate shaft. The elongate shaft defines a lumen therethrough. The lens cleaning assembly includes a base having an annular configuration and defines an aperture in communication with the lumen of the elongate shaft, a cover pivotably coupled to the base, and a spring biasing the cover towards the closed configuration. The cover is transitionable between a closed configuration, in which, the cover closes the aperture of the base, and an open configuration, in which, the cover is spaced apart from the aperture. The cover has a cleaning surface facing the aperture of the base in the closed configuration.
Stapler apparatus and methods for use
Apparatus and methods are provided for performing a medical procedure, such as a laparoscopic appendectomy using a stapler apparatus including a reusable handle portion including a shaft include proximal and distal ends, a disposable end effector attached to the distal end of the shaft of the reusable handle carrying one or more staples. For example, the end effector may include first and second jaws movable relative to one another between open and closed positions, the first jaw carrying a cartridge which includes the one or more staples. A Doppler sensor, a cutting element, and, optionally, a thermal element are also provided on the end effector. The end effector is introduced into a patient's body, tissue is positioned/locked between the jaws, and a plurality of staples are deployed into the tissue. The Doppler sensor is used to confirm that blood flow has discontinued in the stapled tissue, and the cutting element is actuated to sever the stapled tissue.
ENDOSCOPIC VESSEL HARVESTING SYSTEM COMPONENTS
Components for an endoscopic vessel harvesting system suitable for harvesting target vessels such as the saphenous vein or radial artery for cardiac artery bypass graft surgery. The main components of such systems include a vessel dissector and a vessel harvester, both of which work in conjunction with a separately provided endoscope. The vessel dissector is an elongated cannula having a blunt tip for separating layers of facial around vessels. The tip may be movable, and is typically transparent to permit viewing forward of the tip using the endoscope. Internal features of the tip may reduce glare back to the endoscope. Several devices improve visibility through the tip by reducing interference from tissue or fluid on the tip. The vessel harvester also has an elongated cannula for receiving the endoscope. Several tools within the harvester permit manipulation, severing, and sealing of vessels forward of the distal end. The tool for manipulating vessels may have a low-profile for increased visibility of operation, and may be coupled to the cannula with a damping mechanism to reduce the possibility of avulsion of the vessels. Various vessel cutting and sealing devices are provided that may accommodate various sizes of vessels and improve cutting and sealing efficacy.
AUGMENTED VISUALIZATION FOR A SURGICAL ROBOT USING A CAPTURED VISIBLE IMAGE COMBINED WITH A FLUORESCENCE IMAGE AND A CAPTURED VISIBLE IMAGE
An endoscope with an optical channel is held and positioned by a robotic surgical system. A capture unit captures (1) a visible first image at a first time and (2) a visible second image combined with a fluorescence image at a second time. An image processing system receives (1) the visible first image and (2) the visible second image combined with the fluorescence image and generates at least one fluorescence image. A display system outputs an output image including an artificial fluorescence image.
AUGMENTED VISUALIZATION FOR A SURGICAL ROBOT USING A CAPTURED VISIBLE IMAGE COMBINED WITH A FLUORESCENCE IMAGE AND A CAPTURED VISIBLE IMAGE

SYSTEM AND CATHETER FOR IMAGE GUIDANCE AND METHODS THEREOF
A catheter-based imaging system comprises a catheter having a telescoping proximal end, a distal end having a distal sheath and a distal lumen, a working lumen, and an ultrasonic imaging core. The ultrasonic imaging core is arranged for rotation and linear translation. The system further includes a patient interface module including a catheter interface, a rotational motion control system that imparts controlled rotation to the ultrasonic imaging core, a linear translation control system that imparts controlled linear translation to the ultrasonic imaging core, and an ultrasonic energy generator and receiver coupled to the ultrasonic imaging core. The system further comprises an image generator coupled to the ultrasonic energy receiver that generates an image.
Endoscopic Tissue Separator Surgical Device
An endoscopic tissue separator surgical device and method. The device has a multi-lumen shaft having proximal and distal ends, a central lumen for accepting an endoscope, and at least two fluid lumens, with a head coupled to the distal end of the shaft and a handle coupled to the proximal end. The head has an endoscope port and at least two fluid ports whose centers are all disposed along an arcuate line of curvature, while the handle has at least two fluid supply ports. Gas and fluid may be conveyed through the shaft from the handle to the head in the at least two fluid lumens separate from the lumen for accepting an endoscope. At least one lumen of the multi-lumen shaft may house a stainless steel tube with an inside diameter of sufficient size to accept an endoscope.
SHEATH FOR HAND-HELD AND ROBOTIC LAPAROSCOPES
A sheath for providing a dynamic air shield relative to a distal portion of a laparoscope disposed within the sheath includes a sheath elongate body having an inner surface and an outer surface, a plurality of lumens, and a distal portion configured to deflect air from the lumens across the surface of a laparoscope. The sheath can include a registration and alignment feature configured to align the sheath with a laparoscope. Further, the sheath can be configured to work with robotic laparoscope systems.

Methods, devices and systems for cleaning an imaging element with a translatable cleaning element
A device operable to clean an imaging element of a visualization scope comprises a visualization scope engagement body, a cleaning element having a first end portion thereof located adjacent to a distal end of the visualization scope engagement body and a cleaning head attached to the visualization scope engagement body at the distal end thereof. The first end portion of the cleaning element is engaged with the cleaning head. The cleaning head is movable between a deployed configuration relative to the visualization scope engagement body and a retracted configuration relative to the visualization scope engagement body. A centerline longitudinal axis of the visualization scope engagement body extends through the cleaning head when the cleaning head is in the deployed configuration and does not extend through the cleaning head when the cleaning head is in the retracted configuration. The cleaning element is movable for cleaning debris from the imaging element.
