Surgical robotic access system for irregularly shaped robotic actuators and associated robotic surgical instruments
The surgical robotic access system provides access for robotic instruments and/or actuators including the introduction, operation and withdrawal of such robotic manipulators into a body cavity without permitting the escape of pressurized fluid or gas. The surgical robotic access system also provides a multi-faceted range of movement without touching or effecting pressure on the opening in the patient's body cavity.
Surgical devices and deployment apparatuses
Surgical devices having a plurality of outwardly-biased flexible fins capable of both inward convergence and outward flexion, provide for fluid retention and soft tissue retraction during surgical procedures. The outwardly-biased flexible fins also provide for soft tissue compression, decreasing the length of the lumen or passageway through which instruments pass, allowing for a wider range of movement of instruments and better access to the surgical site, especially in patients with greater amounts of fat tissue that would otherwise require longer lumen lengths in prior art endoscopic cannulas. An obturator assembly including a cannulated handle member with a cannulated shaft attached to said handle member, said shaft extending distally and terminating at a cannulated obturator tip. A hood structure found on such obturator tip may be used to secure one or more flexible fins prior to deployment.

Disclosed herein is an obturator and/or cannula configured for insertion of a trocar assembly into a surgical cavity and allowing insertion of medical instruments into the surgical cavity through the cannula after removal of the obturator. The cannula can include an obturator for use in a trocar assembly. A trocar assembly is disclosed including a cannula having a shaft, optionally with a lumen, and one or more elements protruding outwardly from a surface of the lumen and an obturator. The obturator can comprise a shaft with one or more portions configured to accommodate the one or more elements protruding from the lumen surface when the obturator shaft is located in the lumen of the cannula.
EXTENDABLE NEEDLE
The Tuohy needle of the present invention includes a hub design that allows for the needle to be extended mid-procedure from 3.5″ to 5″. The extendable needle of the present invention allows practitioners to better accommodate overweight and obese patients and introduce a simpler procedure workflow.
CANNULA ASSEMBLY WITH DEPLOYABLE CAMERA
The present disclosure provides a cannula assembly having a tube with an internal lumen, a proximal end portion and a distal end portion configured for insertion into a patient. The cannula assembly further includes a housing rotatably coupled to the tube between a closed position and one or more open positions. The housing contains an electronic component comprising an image transmission device, such as a camera, for collecting and receiving images of the surgical site. The housing is adapted to provide the image transmission device with a longitudinal or forward view when the housing is in the closed position and a transverse view (i.e., offset from the longitudinal axis) when the housing is in one of the open positions. The housing is disposed distal to the proximal end portion and proximal to the distal end portion of the tube to protect the image transmission device as the distal end portion creates an incision and/or passes through an existing incision in the patient.
ENDOSCOPIC TRANSLUMINAL STENT ACCESS AND DELIVERY SYSTEM
Aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward apparatuses, systems, and methods for stent access and device delivery. In certain instances, the apparatuses, systems, and methods may include a plurality of struts arranged about the one or more cutting blades on a tip portion.
MEDICAL SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND RELATED METHODS
A medical device includes a longitudinal portion with one or more tubes, a distal portion with one or more arms, and one or more actuation mechanisms. The one or more arms each includes an arm lumen. Each arm lumen is connected to a respective tube, and at least one of the longitudinal portion and the distal portion is configured to be coupled to a distal end of an insertion device. The one or actuation mechanisms are movable to transition one or more arms from a closed configuration to an open configuration.
Trocar device and use thereof
The invention relates to a trocar sleeve or trocar and a trocar tip for minimally invasive/endoscopic surgical procedures carried out on people or animals. The trocar sleeve here has holding means in order to prevent the device from slipping out during the operation.
Sealing devices and related delivery apparatuses
Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to implantable sealing devices, delivery apparatuses, and methods of their use, for closing surgical openings or defects in a sidewall of a vessel in a subject. In several embodiments, the disclosed implantable sealing devices, delivery apparatuses, and methods can be used to close a surgical opening in a sidewall of the heart.
VIDEO NEEDLE SYRINGE
An imaging needle apparatus includes a body, a needle coupled to the body, a probe, and an imager. The needle includes a needle body and a sharp tip. The probe can be exposed from the needle or housed within the needle body according to an operation being performed with the image needle apparatus. The imager is disposed inside of the probe, and includes a plurality of photocells.
