BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION MEASUREMENT DEVICE, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION MEASUREMENT DEVICE, AND PROGRAM
A biological information measurement device, including an electrode contact state detector including a first contact detection circuit connected to either the first electrode or the second electrode among the electrodes, a second contact detection circuit connected to the third electrode, and a contact state determinator for determining a contact state indicating which of the electrodes is in contact with a surface of the measurement target based on a first signal output from the first contact detection circuit and a second signal output from the second contact detection circuit, and an input receiver for receiving a contact of the electrode with respect to the surface of the measurement target as input of predetermined operation associated with the contact state.
Medical environment monitoring system
A system and a method are described for monitoring a medical care environment. In one or more implementations, a method includes identifying a first subset of pixels within a field of view of a camera as representing a bed. The method also includes identifying a second subset of pixels within the field of view of the camera as representing an object (e.g., a subject, such as a patient, medical personnel; bed; chair; patient tray; medical equipment; etc.) proximal to the bed. The method also includes determining an orientation of the object within the bed.
CLEANING APPLIANCE
A dental treatment appliance transmits a pulsed light signal towards the oral cavity and captures images of the oral cavity from light returned from the oral cavity. A controller actuates the treatment of the oral cavity of the user depending on the captured images.
ORAL HEALTH ASSESSMENT FOR GENERATING A DENTAL TREATMENT PLAN
A computer program and computer-based system for remotely determining a dental treatment plan (10) of a user (30) of a personal computing device (20) by obtaining, using the personal computing device (20), at least one digital image (1) of the person’s oral cavity (31) and additional non-image data (2) comprising a choice (7) of a predefined topic (5) by said user (30). The digital images (1) and non-image data (2) are processed to extract dental health indicators (8) that are used to evaluate any dental condition (9) of said user (30). A dental treatment plan (10) is generated based on the dental condition (9) and a database (3) defining logical relationships between predefined topics (5) and actions (6) for said user (30) to take, wherein a selection of said actions (6) arranged in a regimen and displayed on a user interface (25) of said personal computing device (20).
Silicone Hydrogel Based Fluorescent Assay and Contact Lens
A material, article, system and method include a probe composition that includes a hydrophobic portion, a hydrophilic portion, an analyte-binding portion and a fluorophore portion. The analyte-binding portion is configured to bind to an analyte in an aqueous solution. The fluorophore portion is configured to change an optical property of fluorescent light emitted in response to incident excitation light when the probe composition changes between a first state in which the analyte is not bound to the analyte-binding portion and a second state in which the analyte binds to the analyte-binding portion. A material includes the probe composition and a silicone hydrogel substrate having a hydrogel network that allows flow of aqueous solution through the solution and a silicone network that occupies interstices of the hydrogel network. A contact lens having the material enables remote detection of glucose concentration in tear fluid of a subject.
SYSTEMS AND APPARATUSES FOR PROTECTING CONTINUOUS GLUCOSE MONITORING AND INSULIN INFUSION DEVICES
Systems and apparatuses for securing and protecting diabetes management devices, such as continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices and insulin infusion sets. An apparatus comprises a base having multiple pairs of arms which can be attached to a band. The apparatus also comprises a shell for retaining a diabetes management device and which may be unitarily formed with, or removably attached to, the base. A system may include an apparatus, a diabetes management device retained in the shell of the apparatus, and a band attached to the base of the apparatus. The band may be placed around a body part of a user, such as an arm or the abdomen. A system can include an adhesive patch which can adhere to the shell of an apparatus and which has an adhesive layer overlaid with multiple liners having cutlines formed therebetween.
Implantable medical device for arrhythmia detection
A computer implemented method for determining heart arrhythmias based on cardiac activity that includes under control of one or more processors of an implantable medical device (IMD) configured with specific executable instructions to obtain far field cardiac activity (CA) signals at electrodes located remote from the heart, and obtain acceleration signatures, at an accelerometer of the IMD, indicative of heart sounds generated during the cardiac beats. The IMD is also configured with specific executable instructions to declare a candidate arrhythmia based on a characteristic of at least one R-R interval from the cardiac beats, and evaluate the acceleration signatures for ventricular events (VEs) to re-assess a presence or absence of at least one R-wave from the cardiac beats and based thereon confirming or denying the candidate arrhythmia.
Expended wear ambulatory electrocardiography monitor
An electrocardiography monitor is provided. A sealed housing includes one end wider than an opposite end of the sealed housing. Electronic circuitry is provided within the sealed housing. The electronic circuitry includes an electrographic front end circuit to sense electrocardiographic signals and a micro-controller interfaced to the electrocardiographic front end circuit to sample the electrocardiographic signals. A buzzer within the housing outputs feedback to a wearer of the sealed housing.
Robotic interactions for observable signs of intent
Described herein are assistant robots that anticipate needs of one or more people (or animals). The assistant robots may recognize a current activity, knowledge of the person's routines, and contextual information. As such, the assistant robots can provide or offer to provide appropriate robotic assistance. The assistant robots can learn users' habits or be provided with knowledge regarding humans in its environment. The assistant robots develop a schedule and contextual understanding of the persons' behavior and needs. The assistant robots may interact, understand, and communicate with people before, during, or after providing assistance. The robot can combine gesture, clothing, emotional aspect, time, pose recognition, action recognition, and other observational data to understand people's medical condition, current activity, and future intended activities and intents.
System and device for improving sleep quality
A device and system for promoting more recuperative sleep by regulating a user's body temperature. This may be done by using a series of devices that measure information about the user both while they are awake and while they are asleep, communicate that information to a processing unit, and create an ideal body temperature range profile based on that information. A temperature stimulus device may ensure that the core body temperature of the user stays substantially within the ideal body temperature range. By keeping the core body temperature of the user within the calculated range, the device and system will ensure deeper, and therefore more recuperative, sleep.
