MAGNETIC-FIELD GENERATING CIRCUIT FOR A TRACKING SYSTEM
Described embodiments include apparatus that includes a signal generator and an electric circuit. The signal generator is configured to supply a signal having both a first dominant frequency and a second dominant frequency. The electric circuit, which includes a reactive component, is configured to generate, upon the signal being supplied to the electric circuit, a magnetic field having both the first dominant frequency and the second dominant frequency, by virtue of the reactive component simultaneously resonating at both the first dominant frequency and the second dominant frequency. Other embodiments are also described.
GUIDANCE APPARATUS AND CAPSULE MEDICAL APPARATUS GUIDANCE SYSTEM
A guidance apparatus includes: a magnetic field generator configured to generate a magnetic field that acts on a magnet; a magnetic field shielding material configured to shield the magnetic field generated by the magnetic field generator; an operation input device configured to receive an input of at least one of a target position and a target posture for guiding a position and a posture of a capsule medical apparatus; and a controller configured to control the magnetic field generator to generate a magnetic field that has been corrected to offset or reduce a deviation amount of the position or the posture of the capsule medical apparatus with respect to the target position or the target posture, caused by distortion, due to the magnetic field shielding material, of a magnetic field for guiding the capsule medical apparatus to at least one of the target position and the target posture.
Jig for assembling a position sensor
A jig includes a base and one or more movable blocks. The base has an upper surface, which is configured to receive a substrate shaped as a flattened polyhedron having multiple facets. The one or more movable blocks are configured to move on the base so as to fold respective ones of the multiple facets, and to hold the substrate in a folded three-dimensional configuration.
DIAGNOSIS SUPPORT SYSTEM, DIAGNOSIS SUPPORT APPARATUS, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
A diagnosis support system includes a calculator configured to calculate position information indicating a positional relationship between a biological sensor and a predetermined region of a measurement target; and an extractor configured to extract, from biological information already diagnosed, biological information that is associated with position information, which is similar to the position information calculated by the calculator.
Automatic probe reinsertion
In accordance with one embodiment, an automated probe system includes a probe configured to be reversibly inserted into a live body part, a robotic arm attached to the probe and configured to manipulate the probe, a first sensor configured to track movement of the probe during an insertion and a reinsertion of the probe in the live body part, a second sensor configured to track movement of the live body part, and a controller configured to calculate an insertion path of the probe in the live body part based on the tracked movement of the probe during the insertion, and calculate a reinsertion path of the probe based on the calculated insertion path while compensating for the tracked movement of the live body part, and send control commands to the robotic arm to reinsert the probe in the live body part according to the calculated reinsertion path.
Systems and methods for navigational bronchoscopy and selective drug delivery
Provided in accordance with the present disclosure is a diagnostic and a therapeutic bronchoscopy system for localized delivery of medication within the lungs. Specifically, systems and methods are disclosed for creating a functional and anatomical map of the lungs, diagnosing a condition within the lungs, generating a treatment plan for a target site within the lungs, navigating to the target site, administering a treatment directly to the target site for immediate absorption within the target site, and assessing the efficacy of the treatment.
NAVIGATION SLEEVE FOR MEDICAL INSTRUMENT
An apparatus includes a cylindraceous sleeve body, a navigation sensor, and an interface feature. The cylindraceous sleeve body includes an open proximal end, an open distal end, and a lumen extending from the open proximal end to the open distal end. The lumen is sized and configured to receive a shaft of a medical instrument. The navigation sensor is positioned at the open distal end of the cylindraceous sleeve body. The interface feature is configured to couple the navigation sensor with an image guidance system. The navigation sensor is configured to cooperate with an image guidance system to provide feedback indicating a position of the navigation sensor in three-dimensional space.
Method and apparatus for detecting superparamagnetic material
The invention relates to a method and apparatus for detecting superparamagnetic material. The method comprises applying, by an excitation coil, a magnetic field during a first period to an object to modulate a magnetization of the superparamagnetic material, the magnetic field comprising a first component with a first frequency; positioning a sensing device at a first position from the excitation coil receiving a first signal by a first detection sub-coil in the sensing device and a second signal by a second detection-sub-coil in the sensing device; determining a sensor signal from the first signal and the second signal; determining a detection signal based on the sensor signal; determining a parameter indicating an amount of superparamagnetic material by dividing the detection signal by the first signal, and repeating steps to at at least one different position in order to determine a location where the parameter has a maximal value.
Position Determination System And Method
Disclosed is a method to remove distortion from a navigation system. The navigation system may be used to perform a procedure on a subject. The procedure may be any appropriate procedure. The navigation system may be used to account for the distortive effects of various conductive objects positioned near the subject on which the procedure is performed.
ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY MAPPING AND VISUALIZATION SYSTEM
