Breast-measuring device
In one aspect, a device for measuring breast volume is disclosed, which comprises a housing comprising an enclosure having an opening, a flexible membrane sealingly covering said opening so as to provide an enclosed space within said enclosure, a gas disposed within said enclosed space, and at least one pressure sensor coupled to said enclosure so as to measure pressure of said gas within said enclosed space. The flexible membrane is configured to reversibly flex into said enclosed space in response to pressure of a breast against the membrane. The flexure of the membrane causes a change in the pressure and volume of the gas within said enclosed space.
Brace having integrated remote patient monitoring technology and method of using same
A brace configured for attachment to a joint of a subject is provided. The brace includes a first arm having a first end and a second end. The brace includes a second arm having a first end and a second end. The brace includes a hinge assembly coupling the first end of the first arm with the first end of the second arm such that the first arm and the second arm are movable to different relative angular orientations. The brace includes a potentiometer coupled to the hinge assembly. A method of monitoring a relative angular orientation of a first arm of a brace relative to a second arm of the brace is also provided. The method includes monitoring an output of a potentiometer coupled to one of the first arm and the second arm.
Apparatus for measurement of a limb circumference, a device for measurement of a limb compliance comprising the same and a device used in the treatment of lymphedema comprising the same
The present invention provides an apparatus for measurement of a limb circumference, comprising a pull string module, a first measurement module and a second measurement module. The pull string module comprises a surrounding component, wherein the surrounding component comprises an encircling part disposed around a limb of an individual; the first measurement module is disposed at the pull string module and moves alone the longitudinal axis of the limb and meanwhile measures the length of the limb; and the second measurement module measures the length of the encircling part simultaneously when the first measurement module move alone the limb, so as to determine the correlation between the limb length and the limb circumference. The present invention further provides a device including two or more apparatuses of the present invention to measure the limb compliance and to be used in the treatment of lymphedema.
Wound therapy system with internal alternating orifice
A wound therapy system includes a dressing sealable over a wound and defining a wound space between the dressing and the wound, tubing fluidly communicable with the wound space, and a canister fluidly communicable with the tubing. The canister, the tubing, and the dressing define a sealed space that includes the wound space. The wound therapy system also includes a therapy unit coupled to the canister. The therapy unit includes a sensor configured to measure a pressure in the sealed space, a valve positioned between the sealed space and a surrounding environment and controllable between an open position and a closed position, and a control circuit. The control circuit is configured to control the valve to alternate between the open position and the closed position to allow airflow through the valve, receive measurements from the sensor, and determine a volume of the wound space based on the measurements.
METHOD OF COMPRESSING TISSUE WITHIN A STAPLING DEVICE AND SIMULTANEOUSLY DISPLAYING THE LOCATION OF THE TISSUE WITHIN THE JAWS
A method of compressing tissue during a surgical procedure is disclosed. The method comprises obtaining a surgical instrument comprising an end effector, wherein the end effector comprises a first jaw and a second jaw, establishing a communication pathway between the surgical instrument and a surgical hub, and inserting the surgical instrument into a surgical site. The method further comprises compressing tissue between the first jaw and the second jaw, determining a location of the compressed tissue with respect to at least one of the first jaw and the second jaw, communicating the determined location of the compressed tissue to the surgical hub, and displaying the determined location of the compressed tissue on a visual feedback device.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROGNOSIS MANAGEMENT BASED ON MEDICAL INFORMATION OF PATIENT
The disclosure relates to a method for prognosis management based on medical information of a patient, a device, and a medium. The method includes acquiring, by a processor, medical information of the patient at a first time. The method further includes receiving the medical information of the patient at a first time. The method may further include predicting, by a processor, a progression condition of an object associated with the patient at a second time based on the acquired medical information of the first time. The progression condition is indicative of a prognosis risk, and the second time is after the first time. The method may also include outputting the predicted progression condition to an information management system. The method is helpful for users to understand the potential prognosis risk of the object at the second time to aid users in making treatment decisions.
Multi-modal image-guided radiation system
Systems and methods relate to multi-modal imaging of tissue combined with highly focused radiation interventions. The system is a portable multimodal imaging unit that integrates imaging and image analysis. The system can be retrofitted to use with any commercial radiation therapy machine. In one aspect, a system integrates various imaging modalities into a single, coordinated structure. The system integrates X-ray and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), optical imaging (such as bioluminescent imaging (BLI), fluorescence tomography (FT)), and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging in a single, self-contained structure.
Methods for determining the size of body parts as part of compression therapy procedures
Methods are disclosed for measuring the size of body parts treated by a compression therapy device. Either the volume or circumference of the body part may be measure. The methods my include evacuating an inflatable compression sleeve to a known pressure, inserting the body part into the compression sleeve, inflating the sleeve to a pre-set condition, and then measuring one or more inflation related parameters. The pre-set conditions may include a predetermined pressure, volume, or size of the inflatable cells comprising the sleeve. The inflation related parameters may include the time to fill the cell to a pre-set pressure, the pressure attained after a pre-set time of inflation, or the measure volume of a cell after a pre-set amount of air is introduced into it. The methods may also include deflating the cells from the known inflation state to a second inflation state and measuring similar parameters.
METHOD, DEVICE AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING SEGMENTAL MUSCLE VOLUME
A method for determining a muscle section of a body part. The muscle section (S) is determined as a function of: at least two electrical resistance values measured through different electrodes located on different locations of the body, at least two electrodes being located along the body part, and a muscle conductivity constant (σ), and a permittivity constant of the muscle (ε).
