AUSCULTATION DEVICE FOR DETERMINING AN OPTIMAL LOCATION FOR CARDIORESPIRATORY AUSCULTATION
20230015506 · 2023-01-19 ·

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to determining an optimal location on the body of a person where heart sounds may be optimally heard. The optimal location may be determined at a time prior to the attempted auscultation and ECG data corresponding to the optimal location may be stored in a memory of an auscultation device. Subsequently, when a e.g., physician wishes to listen to the heart sounds of the person, the physician may place the auscultation device at a first location on the patient. The auscultation device may periodically perform an ECG at a current location and use the ECG data at the current location and the ECG data at the optimal location to determine and provide guidance to the physician regarding a direction in which the auscultation device should be moved in order to reach the optimal location.

A healthcare apparatus includes a ballistocardiogram (BCG) sensor configured to sense a ballistocardiogram signal of a subject, a camera configured to acquire a color facial image, and a processor configured to detect a region of interest (ROI) from the color facial image, to detect a first color image of a forehead area to acquire a first black and white image, to detect a second color image of a cheek area to acquire a second black and white image, to apply the first and second black and white images to a predetermined trained algorithm model to output a remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) signal waveform of the subject, to calculate a first heart rate from the BCG signal waveform, to calculate a second heart rate from the remote PPG signal waveform, and to output a heart rate of the subject based on the first heart rate and the second heart rate.

WEARABLE MECHANO-ACOUSTIC SENSOR
20230218177 · 2023-07-13 ·

A wearable mechano-acoustic sensor for continuous cardiorespiratory monitoring, and methods of making and using the same. The sensor includes a diaphragm with a chamber and a channel connected to the chamber, a plurality of electrodes including at least an anode and a cathode extending into the channel, and a liquid electrolyte solution that fills the chamber and channel. When the diaphragm is attached to a user's chest, mechano-acoustic movement from the chest cause the diaphragm to move, pushing the electrolyte solution across the electrodes. A voltage is applied to the anode and an electrochemical current is determined by the flux from the anode to the cathode by the modulation of the electrolyte solution across the electrodes and cardiorespiratory signals are measured from the electrochemical currents.

A biological signal of a subject is acquired so as to calculate biological information from the acquired biological signal. When the biological information has been determined to be anomaly, whether the biological information is one that was calculated under a high-accuracy condition is determined. When the biological information is determined to be one that was calculated under the high-accuracy condition, a notice is given based on a first criterion. In the other cases, a notice is given based on a second criterion. Thereby, it is possible to provide an abnormality notification system that can give a necessary notification appropriately while suppressing unnecessary notification, by changing the criteria for notification in accordance with the accuracy of the determined biological information when the biological information of the subject was determined to be anomaly.
