System and methods for creating reduced test sets used in assessing subject response to stimuli
A computer-implemented method for generating a test set for testing a subject using a computer system comprising logic-based processing circuitry is provided. The method includes the step of selecting one or more features from among a plurality of features, wherein a measurable effect on the subject of each feature selected is based on a predetermined threshold. The method also includes generating one or more classes of stimuli based on the selected features. The method further includes selecting stimuli from one or more of said classes for presenting to the subject.
METHOD FOR HEARING TEST AND HEARING TEST DEVICE
An electronic device and a method for hearing test of a user is disclosed, the method comprising obtaining one or more first test parameters including a first primary test parameter; displaying a first user interface comprising a first primary user interface element according to the first primary test parameter; outputting a first primary test signal according to the first primary test parameter; while displaying the first user interface, detecting a first user input indicative of a request for change in the first primary test signal; determining a second primary test parameter according to the first user input indicative of a request for change in the first primary test signal; updating and displaying the first user interface according to the second primary test parameter; and outputting a second primary test signal according to the second primary test parameter.
AUDIO DEVICE AND COMPUTER-READABLE PROGRAM
[Problem]To provide an audio device with which it is possible to efficiently utilize the storage capacity of a storage device for storing audio data. [Solution] In this audio device 1, in accordance with user profile information stored in a profile information storage unit 102, audio data inputted to an audio data input unit 103 is subjected by a filter unit 104 to a process of cutting a frequency band higher than the highest frequency audible to the user) and/or a frequency band lower than the lowest frequency audible to the user, and the data is then encoded by a codec unit 105, and stored to an audio storage device 100. Audio data can thereby be stored in the audio storage device 100 in compressed form with no noticeable decline in sound quality to the user, making it possible to store more audio data, such as music, in the audio storage device 100.
Method and apparatus for analyzing and visualizing the performance of frequency lowering hearing aids
A method of analyzing performance of frequency lowering hearing aids. The method includes generating a sequentially of noise signals and transmitting acoustical sounds from a sound output device in response to the sequence of noise signals. A sound input device records the acoustical sounds and saves as a first device data. The sound input device with a frequency lowering hearing aid records the acoustical sounds and save as a second device data. The second device data is compared to the first device data and, in response to the comparison, at least one function of the frequency lowering hearing aid is optionally adjusted.
Hearing aid tuning system and method
Systems and methods are provided herein that provide for hearing aid tuning.
System And Method For Diagnosis Of Brainstem Disorders
A system and method for detection of a brainstem disorder, such as schizophrenia, by means of brainstem audiometry is disclosed. A subject's (4) responses on the physical properties of sound; frequency, time and amplitude are being detected. Sound stimuli are being presented, via a communication element (2) through a hearing organ (3) to the subject. Elements (7) are attached to the subject (7) for measurement of the subject's electrophysiological brain activity. Simultaneously as the mentioned sound stimuli (1) are presented to the subject (4) a trig signal is sent out from the organ for generation of stimuli (1), via a trig box (5), further to an organ for registration (6) of the electro-physiological brain activity in the subject (4), whereafter mentioned electrophysiological brain activity is stored and imaged, in computer equipment (8) for determination of a brainstem disorder in the subject.
CUSTOMIZATION OF BONE CONDUCTION HEARING DEVICES
The present invention relates to recipient customization of a bone conducting hearing device. Customization of the bone conducting hearing device may include attaching the bone conducting hearing device to a recipient, establishing communication between the hearing device and an external device, generating at least one control setting with the external device, and storing the at least one control setting in a memory device in the hearing device.
AUDIOMETER
An audiometer comprising: a database storing a non-transitory digital test signal associated with a desired test sound; a digital to analog converter (DAC) that converts the digital test signal to an analog signal; headphones that produce a sound responsive to the analog signal; a microphone that registers the sound; and a controller that adjusts the digital test signal so that the sound produced by the headphones has acceptable fidelity relative to the desired test sound to have the sound be useable in a hearing test.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SELF-FITTING AN ELECTROACOUSTIC STIMULATION SYSTEM TO A PATIENT
An exemplary system includes an electro-acoustic stimulation (EAS) sound processor, a cochlear implant communicatively coupled to the EAS sound processor, an electrode array communicatively coupled to the cochlear implant, and a receiver communicatively coupled to the EAS sound processor and configured to be in communication with an ear of a patient. The EAS sound processor 1) directs, while in a self-fitting mode, the receiver to apply acoustic stimulation to the patient, 2) records, using at least one electrode included in the electrode array, an evoked response that occurs in response to the acoustic stimulation, 3) compares the evoked response to a baseline evoked response recorded by the EAS sound processor prior to recording the evoked response, and 4) performs a predetermined action based on the comparison between the evoked response and the baseline evoked response. Corresponding systems and methods are also disclosed.
SPL dose data logger system
A method for using an earpiece (800) in a work environment is provided. The earpiece (800) attenuates sound from the work environment to the user's ear. The earpiece (800) includes an ear canal microphone (820) for measuring a sound pressure level in an ear canal of the user. Sound pressure levels are measured periodically while in the work environment. Each measured sound pressure levels is stored in memory (127) of the earpiece with time and location information. The sound pressure level information is downloaded to a database (1704) when the earpiece is removed from the user ear for recharging. The sound pressure level information is analyzed and any potential noise compliance issues in the work environment are identified.
