Methods and systems for analyzing brain lesions with longitudinal 3D MRI data

Some methods of analyzing one or more brain lesions of a patient comprise, for each of the lesion(s), calculating one or more lesion characteristics from a first 3-dimensional (3D) representation of the lesion obtained from data taken at a first time and a second 3D representation of the lesion obtained from data taken at a second time that is after the first time. The characteristic(s) can include a change, form the first time to the second time, in the lesion's volume and/or surface area, the lesion's displacement from the first time to the second time, and/or the lesion's theoretical radius ratio at each of the first and second times. Some methods comprise characterizing whether the patient has multiple sclerosis and/or the progression of multiple sclerosis in the patient based at least in part on the calculation of the lesion characteristic(s) of each of the lesion(s).

Sensing cannula systems

Disclosed cannula systems can detect the tissue type within which the cannula tip is located in real time using electrodes adjacent the cannula tip. The sensing cannula system can differentiate when the cannula tip is in adipose tissue or muscle based on electrical impedance. The system can be used in fat grafting and liposuction procedures, for example. An operator can detect if the cannula tip enters muscle by watching for an indicator light or audible alarm that is automatically activated by the device based on a change in sensed impedance. The device may also stop the flow of fat through a pump halting injection into the sub-muscular space.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AIDING NON-CONTACT DETECTOR PLACEMENT IN NON-CONTACT PATIENT MONITORING SYSTEMS

Systems and methods for aiding a clinician in the proper positioning, placing or otherwise locating of a non-contact detector component of a non-contact patient monitoring system are described. The systems and methods may employ a targeting aid superimposed on a display screen component of the non-contact patient monitoring system, the targeting aid being designed to assist the clinician in properly locating the non-contact detector for proper and accurate functioning of the non-contact patient monitoring system. The systems and methods described herein may also employ a bendable mounting arm to which the non-contact detector is attached such that the non-contact detector can be easily moved into the proper location when used in conjunction with the targeting aid superimposed on the display.

MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE, MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, PROGRAM, AND MEDICAL IMAGE DISPLAY SYSTEM

Provided are a medical image processing device, a medical image processing method, a program, and a medical image display system that reduce the amount of movement of a line of sight in a case in which a medical image is observed. A first medical image of a subject is displayed. A second medical image including an anatomical feature structure closest to a designated position in the first medical image is acquired. The first medical image and the second medical image are registered. A region including the identified anatomical feature structure is cut out from the second medical image based on a registration result to generate a second partial region image. The second partial region image is displayed to be superimposed on the first medical image.

SYSTEM FOR A THERMAL MONITORING SECURITY CAMERA
20220417453 · 2022-12-29 ·

A system for a thermal monitoring security camera is disclosed, including at least one camera positioned to monitor a facility. An image processing module receives imagery from the at least one camera and analyzes the imagery to determine, via a facial recognition module, an identity of an individual within the imagery and the presence or absence of a mask on the face of the individual. At least one thermal camera monitors the temperatures of each individual sensed by the thermal camera. An alert module transmits an alert if the temperature is above a threshold temperature. A security system provides access or prevent access to the facility.

Laser scanning and tool tracking imaging in a light deficient environment

Systems, methods, and devices for laser scanning in a light deficient environment. A system includes an emitter for emitting pulses of electromagnetic radiation and an image sensor comprising a pixel array for sensing reflected electromagnetic radiation. The system includes a controller comprising a processor in electrical communication with the image sensor and the emitter, wherein the controller synchronizes timing of the pulses of electromagnetic radiation during a blanking period of the image sensor. The system is such that at least a portion of the pulses of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the emitter comprises a laser scanning pattern.

DIAGNOSTIC METHOD FOR MIGRAINE HEADACHES
20220395331 · 2022-12-15 ·

A diagnostic method for determining if a patient is viable candidate for a surgical procedure to permanently eliminate migraine headache pain. The method includes determining if a patient's pain is a migraine pain condition or pain from another medical condition and determining an anatomical location of the determined migraine pain condition. Once the anatomical location is determined, the method correlates the determined anatomical location of the migraine pain condition to a root cause nasal/sinus location and determines a root cause nasal/sinus condition that is causing the patient's migraine pain. Once these diagnostic procedures are complete, the patient may be scheduled for surgery to eliminate the root cause nasal/sinus condition, and thus, permanently eliminate the migraine headache pain.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR LOCATING TARGET CEREBRAL POINTS IN MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGES
20220395179 · 2022-12-15 ·

A device for locating target points on a magnetic resonance image of the brain of a subject includes a trained neural network configured to receive as input a 3D MR image of the brain of a subject, and to output the location, on the image, of at least one determined brain target point. The neural network includes a plurality of processing stages. Each processing stage processes an image at a respective resolution, and the processing stage of lowest resolution outputs an estimate of the location of each target point. Each other processing stage is configured to receive, from a lower resolution processing stage, an estimate of the locations of the target points, crop the input image to a smaller region surrounding each estimated target point, determine an updated estimate of the location of each target point, and provide the updated estimation to the processing stage of the next higher resolution.
