Biopsy apparatus and system
Certain aspects relate to biopsy apparatuses, systems and techniques for biopsy using a biopsy pattern. Some aspects relate to moving a distal portion of a medical instrument to one or more sample locations of the biopsy pattern and guiding the instrument to obtain tissue samples from the sample locations within the biopsy pattern. Some aspects relate to obtaining the biopsy pattern and adjusting the sample locations within the biopsy pattern based on various factors such as anatomical features.
DIFFERENTIAL VOLTAGE MEASURING SYSTEM FOR MEASURING THE BREATHING ACTIVITY OF A PATIENT
The differential voltage measuring system has a number of signal measuring circuits, each having a capacitive sensor element for capturing a measurement signal relating to the patient. The differential voltage measuring system further has a signal processing apparatus for determining at least one bioelectrical signal from the measurement signals and a computer unit which is configured to ascertain, on the basis of the at least one bioelectrical signal, and to provide, an item of breathing information, said breathing information indicating a breathing activity of the patient.
CARDIAC PHASE GATING SYSTEM FOR RADIATION THERAPY
Systems and techniques for reliably predicting a motion phase for non-invasive treatment of the heart. The system and methods may account for both respiratory and cardiac cycles in characterizing the motion of the heart relative to the irradiation source. The system and methods may also include a heartbeat sensor that provides an independent reference indication of the cardiac phase to provide real-time or near real-time quality assurance of a current predicted phase indication. The disclosed system and methods may be configured for use in one of two modes: “beam-gating” and “beam-tracking”. For beam-gating, the predicted cardiac phase is compared to the desired gating window, based on the patient-specific treatment plan, to determine if a gate ON or gate OFF signal should be set. For beam-tracking, the predicted cardiac phase is used to load the appropriate beam parameters based on the patient-specific and motion phase-dependent treatment plans.
Systems and methods for detecting patient state in a medical imaging session
Methods and systems are provided for detecting patient motion during a diagnostic scan. In one example, a method for a medical imaging system includes obtaining output from one or more patient monitoring devices configured to monitor a patient before and during a diagnostic scan executed with the medical imaging system, receiving a request to initiate the diagnostic scan, tracking patient motion based on the output from the one or more patient monitoring devices, and initiating the diagnostic scan responsive to patient motion being below a threshold level.
Spatiotemporal reconstruction in higher dimensions of a moving vascular pulse wave from a plurality of lower dimensional angiographic projections
A plurality of image projections are acquired at faster than cardiac rate. A spatiotemporal reconstruction of cardiac frequency angiographic phenomena in three spatial dimensions is generated from two dimensional image projections using physiological coherence at cardiac frequency. Complex valued methods may be used to operate on the plurality of image projections to reconstruct a higher dimensional spatiotemporal object. From a plurality of two spatial dimensional angiographic projections, a 3D spatial reconstruction of moving pulse waves and other cardiac frequency angiographic phenomena is obtained. Reconstruction techniques for angiographic data obtained from biplane angiography devices are also provided herein.
MRI APPARATUS AND MRI METHOD
According to one embodiment, MRI apparatus includes processing circuitry and an imaging device. The processing circuitry is configured to acquire at least one of body size information relating to a size of an object and breath-hold information relating to a breath-holdable time of the object. The processing circuitry is further configured to determine an imaging condition to be performed on the object based on the at least one of the body size information and the breath-hold information. The imaging device performs imaging of the object in accordance with the determined imaging condition.
MRI SYSTEM COMPRISING PATIENT MOTION SENSOR AND SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD
A magnetic resonance imaging system includes a bore, a table configured to support a patient being imaged and movable to move the patient in and out of the bore, a motion sensor, a controller configured to detect patient motion based on changes in an RF signal from the motion sensor. The motion sensor includes a self-resonant spiral (SRS) coil excited by a drive signal to radiate a magnetic field having a predefined resonant frequency and a driver-receiver coupled to the SRS coil and configured to generate the drive signal to excite the SRS coil and to receive the RF signal from the SRS coil. The motion sensor is located such that a portion of the patient is within the magnetic field while the patient is being imaged in the bore.
Method for monitoring breastfeeding events and providing feedback
A method of monitoring a breastfeeding of a user that includes providing at least one detector that measures a first data of a breastfeeding event, receiving a second data from the user and processing the first data and the second data to create a lactation transfer report. The method communicates the lactation transfer report to a user device and/or a device accessible by one or more experts and provides feedback to the user based on an evaluation of the lactation transfer report by the one or more experts. The first data includes the time of the breastfeeding event, a length of the breastfeeding event and/or a rate of filling of the breastfeeding event. The user device receives the second data in the form of additional breastfeeding information from the user.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PATIENT MONITORING
The present disclosure provides a system for patient monitoring. The system may cause a medical device to perform a treatment or a scan on a patient who remains in a breath-hold status. During the treatment or the scan of the patient, the system may acquire one or more parameter values relating to one or more status parameters that reflect the breath-hold status of the patient using a monitoring device. The system may also predict a breaking point of the breath-hold status based on the one or more parameter value. The system may further adjust the treatment or the scan based on the breaking point of the breath-hold status.
DETERMINING AN OUTER CONTOUR DURING MR IMAGING
A magnetic resonance tomography unit and a method is provided in which a patient couch may be moved in relation to the longitudinal direction into the patient tunnel in the transversal direction into a left-hand side extreme position and an opposite-lying right-hand side extreme position. Using an image acquisition facility in the left-hand side extreme position a right-hand side part is acquired and in the right-hand side extreme position a left-hand side part of the outer contour of the predetermined object is acquired. Using the image acquisition facility, the outer contour of the object is subsequently created from the left-hand side part of the outer contour and also from the right-hand side part of the outer contour.
