DUAL EEG NON-CONTACT MONITOR WITH PERSONAL EEG MONITOR FOR CONCURRENT BRAIN MONITORING AND COMMUNICATION
Aspects of the disclosure can provide a method and device for detecting EEG signals of a first person in proximity to the device. The device can include a non-contact EEG directional circuit having non-contact sensors, the non-contact EEG directional circuit being configured to detect the EEG signals produced by a brain of the first person without making contact with the first person. The device can further include a processor coupled to the non-contact EEG directional circuit that is configured to analyze the EEG signals to detect patterns in the EEG signals that correspond to a state of the first person in proximity to the non-contacting sensor and feedback device that is configured to provide a second person with an indication of the state of the first person in proximity to the non-contacting sensor. Additionally, the device can include a contact EEG circuit having sensors that are in contact with the second person and that is configured to detect second EEG signals produced by a brain of the second person, wherein the processor is coupled to the contact EEG circuit and is configured to analyze the second EEG signals to detect patterns in the second EEG signals that correspond to a state of second the person.
MONITOR DEVICE OF AN OSTOMY SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED METHOD FOR OPERATING A MONITOR DEVICE
Disclosed is a method of operating a monitor device and an associated monitor device of an ostomy system including an ostomy appliance having an electrode assembly comprising a plurality of electrodes including a first electrode pair, the method comprising: obtaining one or more parameters including obtaining a first parameter of a first terminal pair connected to the first electrode pair of the electrode assembly; determining if one or more operability criteria are satisfied based on the one or more parameters including determining if the first parameter satisfies first operability criteria indicative of operability of the first electrode pair of the electrode assembly.
NON-INVASIVE CEREBRAL MONITORING AND CEREBRAL METRIC-BASED GUIDANCE FOR MEDICAL PROCEDURES
A cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) cerebral monitoring device including a measurement probe having one or more optical emitters, and one or more optical detectors, and including an optical instrument having an optical source, and an optical detector. Also included is a controller configured to control the optical instrument to emit multi-spectral light through the one or more optical emitters to illuminate a tissue, control the optical detector to detect multi-spectral light emitted from the illuminated tissue, compare the emitted multi-spectral light to the detected multi-spectral light, compute a plurality of cerebral tissue parameters based on the comparison, determine CPR procedures based on the plurality of cerebral tissue parameters, and control a user output device to instruct a user to perform the CPR procedures, and/or control an automated CPR device to perform the CPR procedures.
MOTION MONITORING METHODS AND SYSTEMS
A motion monitoring method (500) is provided, which includes: obtaining a movement signal of a user during motion, wherein the movement signal includes at least an electromyographic signal or an attitude signal (510); and monitoring a movement of the user during motion based at least on feature information corresponding to the electromyographic signal or the feature information corresponding to the attitude signal (520).
Surgical instruments with sensors for detecting tissue properties, and system using such instruments
A system is provided that furnishes expert procedural guidance based upon patient-specific data gained from surgical instruments incorporating sensors on the instrument's working surface, one or more reference sensors placed about the patient, sensors implanted before, during or after the procedure, the patient's personal medical history, and patient status monitoring equipment. Embodiments include a system having a surgical instrument with a sensor for generating a signal indicative of a property of a subject tissue of the patient, which signal is converted into a current dataset and stored. A processor compares the current dataset with other previously stored datasets, and uses the comparison to assess a physical condition of the subject tissue and/or to guide a procedure being performed on the tissue.
Notifications on a user device based on activity detected by an activity monitoring device
Methods, systems and devices are provided for motion-activated display of messages on an activity monitoring device. In one embodiment, method for presenting a message on an activity monitoring device is provided, including the following method operations: downloading a plurality of messages to the device; detecting a stationary state of the device; detecting a movement of the device from the stationary state; in response to detecting the movement from the stationary state, selecting one of a plurality of messages, and displaying the selected message on the device.
METHOD FOR SIGNALLING VITAL PARAMETERS AND/OR VITAL PARAMETER PATTERNS IN A VEHICLE
A method for signaling a measured and/or a predetermined vital parameter and/or vital parameter pattern for a vehicle occupant in a vehicle involves arranging a functional element set up to have a visual and/or audible and/or haptic effect on at least one vehicle occupant, and a measured and/or a predetermined vital parameter and/or vital parameter pattern is signaled non-verbally by the functional element.
SYSTEM FOR ALERTING SERVICE ANIMALS TO PERFORM SPECIFIED TASKS
A system for alerting service animals to perform specified tasks generally includes an alert device which provides a first and a second haptic alert from an alert device worn by a service animal and a monitoring device worn by a handler. The monitoring device is programmed to monitor a physiologic parameter of the handler and has a first mode programmed to transmit a first actuation signal to the alert device when the physiologic parameter exceeds a first threshold such that the alert device provides the first haptic alert to the service animal and a second mode programmed to transmit a second actuation signal to the alert device when the physiologic parameter exceeds a second threshold such that the alert device provides the haptic alert to the service animal. The auditory alert is correlated to a first task and the second haptic alert is correlated to a second task.
