BREAST COMPRESSION PADDLE HAVING AN INFLATABLE JACKET

A breast compression paddle for use in an imaging system includes a compression surface and a jacket. The jacket includes at least one inflatable chamber disposed adjacent to the compression surface and a sheet covering at least a portion of the compression surface. The at least one inflatable chamber is configured to selectively inflate and induce the sheet to slide along the compression surface.

MEDICAL MATTRESS AND METHOD FOR REAL-TIME MONITORING
20200100734 · 2020-04-02 ·

A medical mattress for determining a position and/or a change in position of a patient supported on the mattress is provided. The mattress includes a number of fluid channels that are distributed in a matrix, such that a first part of the fluid channels extends parallel to each other and a second part of the fluid channels extends parallel to each other. The first part is orthogonal to the second part. Each of the fluid channels at an output is connected to a respective fluid supply hose. The mattress also includes a fluid supply device that pumps fluid into the fluid channels via the fluid supply hoses, sensors for measuring flow parameters and/or flow change parameters in the fluid channels, and an evaluation unit for evaluation of the flow parameters and/or flow change parameters with respect to a position and/or change in position of the patient supported on the mattress.

A multi-cell inflatable jack includes a plurality of jack elements. Each of the plurality of jack elements includes a body having a predetermined perimeter shape and defining a perimeter chamber and a central chamber. A valve is coupled to the body and configured to provide air flow to one of the perimeter chamber or the central chamber. A plurality of flow control stringers are located between the first chamber portion and the second chamber portion and are configured to control an air flow rate into each of the perimeter chamber and the central chamber. At least one fastener is formed on the body and configured to attach the jack element to at least one additional jack element in a multi-cell stack.

System and method for off-loading of the body in the prone position and for patient turning and repositioning
10363185 · 2019-07-30 · ·

The present invention relates to a system and method for support and off-loading. The system includes an inner bladder filled with a flowable composition. An outer bladder filled with a flowable composition is positioned adjacent to the inner bladder. The composition of the inner bladder has greater flow characteristics than the composition of the outer bladder. The inner bladder micro-contours to the received body part and the outer bladder macro-contours to the inner bladder after the inner bladder is micro-contoured to the received body part. Alternatively, the system provides a pair of ultra low pressure plenums and a positioner. The patient body size and size and corresponding surface area of the positioner control the amount of gas which is displaced evenly against the walls of the ultra low pressure plenums.

An inflatable mattress includes a top panel, a bottom panel, and a side panel coupled between a perimeter of the top panel and a perimeter of the bottom panel. The side panel defines a cutout sized and configured to receive a headrest therein. The top panel defines a fabric section extending over the cutout.

X-RAY EXAMINATION DEVICE AND METHOD

An X-ray examination device has an X-ray tube and an X-ray detector for recording at least one X-ray image of a breast and also an ultrasound system for recording an ultrasound image of the breast. A compression unit is used for compression and fixation of the breast. A volume-variable and/or shape-variable positioning element is disposed to act on the breast. The positioning element has at least one chamber and the volume-variability and/or shape-variability of the positioning element can be effected by filling at least one chamber of the positioning element with a filling medium and/or by emptying at least one chamber of the positioning element.

Patient support pads for use in detecting lymphedema through X-ray scans
10201317 · 2019-02-12 · ·

A system for detecting lymphedema comprising a dual energy x-ray absorptiometry system and one or more spacer pads disposed within a field of view of the dual energy x-ray absorptiometry system. The dual energy x-ray absorptiometry system comprises an x-ray source and a patient support platform, wherein the patient support platform is configured to receive a patient in a supine position with the x-ray source disposed above the patient support platform. The one or more spacer pads are configured to be positioned between body parts of the patient.

INFLATABLE SUPPORT

An inflatable patient support includes a top panel defining a first perimeter and a bottom panel defining a second perimeter. The second perimeter of the bottom panel is coupled to the first perimeter of the top panel. An internal wall is coupled between the top panel and the bottom panel to define a first chamber and a second chamber. The internal wall defines at least one passage therethrough that allows fluid communication between the first chamber and the second chamber. The first chamber and the second chamber are inflatable.
