HEMOSTASIS METHODS AND APPARATUSES
A probe is configured with a flushing port and an evacuation port to establish a flow path to remove blood from a resected tissue. The probe comprises a balloon configured to expand and contact the resected tissue to compress filaments and improve access to the underlying blood vessels for coagulation with an energy source. An endoscope can be used to view the tissue, and the balloon may comprise a transparent material or a viewing port to allow imaging of the bleeding tissue through the balloon. The probe may have a light source to illuminate the tissue with a beam oriented at an oblique angle to the tissue surface, which can decrease interference from blood and may allow more localized coagulation of the blood vessel.
BREAKAWAY HINGE FOR A PORTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE ACCESS DOOR
A breakaway hinge for a portable medical device, such as a cart-borne ultrasound system, enables the movement of an access door in other dimensions than the hinge access. The hinge includes a sliding magnet which attaches to a fixed magnet, and a hinge pin, all acting together to allow the door to open, to shift the door away from the hinge, and to detach the door as desired.
AUTOMATED BREAST ULTRASOUND EQUIPMENT AND METHODS USING ENHANCED NAVIGATOR AIDS
A method and system acquiring, processing and displaying breast ultrasound images in a way that makes breast ultrasound screening more practical and thus more widely used, and reduces the occurrence of missing cancers in screening and diagnosis, using automated scanning of chestwardly compressed breasts with ultrasound. Enhanced, whole-breast navigator overview images are produced from scanning breasts with ultrasound that emphasize abnormalities in the breast while excluding obscuring influences of non-breast structures, particularly those external to the breast such as ribs and chest wall, and differentiating between likely malignant and likely benign abnormalities and otherwise enhancing the navigator overview image and other images, thereby reducing the time to read, screen, and/or diagnose to practical time limits and also reduce screening or diagnostic errors.
Ultrasound imaging system having automatic image presentation
A method of generating a 3D ultrasound image includes acquiring a 3D volumetric data set corresponding to a 3D imaging volume of an ultrasound probe in a 3D detection volume; acquiring a position of the ultrasound probe with respect to the 3D detection volume; acquiring a position of an interventional medical device with respect to the 3D detection volume; determining a position of the interventional medical device relative to the 3D imaging volume of the ultrasound probe; determining an interventional medical device-aligned plane that intersects with a longitudinal axis of the interventional medical device; extracting a texture slice from the 3D imaging volume for a corresponding interventional medical device-aligned plane positional and rotational orientation; mapping the texture slice onto the interventional medical device-aligned plane; and rendering the interventional medical device-aligned plane as a 3D ultrasound image and displaying the rendered 3D ultrasound image on a display screen.
Ultrasound imaging apparatus for registering ultrasound image with image from another modality and method of operating ultrasound imaging apparatus
Provided are an ultrasound imaging apparatus and an operation method for registering an ultrasound image and an image from another modality. The ultrasound imaging apparatus may register the ultrasound image and the image from the other modality based on a three-dimensional positional relationship between at least one external electromagnetic sensor attached to a patient's body and an ultrasound probe and on a position of a feature point extracted from the image from the other modality.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTEXTUAL IMAGING WORKFLOW
A method includes receiving a selection of an examination template including a hierarchical examination workflow and baseline configuration parameters corresponding to the examination template, wherein the examination template is associated with an anatomical area; automatically configuring an imaging system with the baseline configuration parameters from the examination template; capturing image data of a patient using the imaging system according to the hierarchical examination workflow; storing the image data on a storage system, such that the image data is associated with the anatomical area; displaying an anatomical model of a plurality of anatomical areas of the patient; and displaying thumbnails of the image data on respective areas of the anatomical model corresponding to anatomical areas of the patient where the image data was captured by the imaging system.
Headset system
Arrangements described herein relate to a headset system and a method to manufacturing the headset system, the headset system including a headset configured to lay on top of a surface and to support a head of a subject when the subject is in a supine position or a reclined position, at least one probe adjustment mechanism, and a probe coupled to the at least one probe adjustment mechanism and configured to emit acoustic energy.
Connectors for ultrasound imaging system
Ultrasound imaging systems are provided. An ultrasound system according to some embodiments includes a console configured to selectively communicate with a first ultrasound imaging device and a second ultrasound imaging device. The console includes a housing, a computing device disposed within the housing, and a connector receptacle assembly coupled to the housing. The connector receptacle assembly includes a first connector bank including a first plurality of electrical connections; and a second connector bank including a second plurality of electrical connections. The connector receptacle assembly is selectively matable to a first connector of the first ultrasound imaging device via only the first connector bank and to a second connector of the second ultrasound imaging device via the first and second connector banks.
Three-dimensional ultrasound imaging method and device
The three-dimensional ultrasound imaging method comprise emitting an ultrasonic wave to a fetal head; receiving an ultrasonic echo to acquire an ultrasonic echo signal; acquiring three-dimensional volume data of the fetal head according to the ultrasonic echo signal; detecting a median sagittal section from the three-dimensional volume data according to features of the median sagittal section of the fetal head; determining a facing orientation of the fetal head in the median sagittal section; displaying the median sagittal section as an image suitable for observation according to the facing orientation of the fetal head.
MEDICAL IMAGING DEVICE TO SYSTEM CONNECTION
An ultrasound imaging system includes an ultrasound probe comprising an ultrasound transducer array. The ultrasound imaging system further includes a processor circuit configured for communication with the ultrasound probe via a first conductive pathway and a second conductive pathway. The ultrasound imaging system further includes a first connector and a second connector configured to be selectively engaged to establish the communication between the ultrasound probe and the processor circuit. The processor circuit is configured to detect an electrical conductance along the first conductive pathway. The processor circuit is further configured to transmit data to the ultrasound probe via the second conductive pathway only after detecting the electrical conductance along the first conductive pathway.
