Dental attachment formation structure
The present disclosure provides methods, computing device readable medium, devices, and systems having a dental attachment formation structure. One dental attachment formation apparatus includes a body having a first surface shaped to conform to the contours of an exterior surface of a tooth and including a portion of the first surface shaped to accommodate an attachment that is to be attached to the exterior surface of the tooth and a light source attachment structure for attachment of a light source to the body.
Photo of a patient with new simulated smile in an orthodontic treatment review software
A computer-implemented method for generating a virtual depiction of an orthodontic treatment of a patient is disclosed herein. The computer-implemented method may involve gathering a three-dimensional (3D) model modeling the patient's dentition at a specific treatment stage of an orthodontic treatment plan. An image of the patient's face and dentition may be gathered. A first set of reference points modeled on the 3D model of the patient's dentition and a second set of reference points represented on the dentition of the image of the patient may be received. The image of the patient's dentition may be projected into a 3D space to create a projected 3D model of the image of the patient's dentition. Based on a comparison of the first reference points and projections of the second set of reference points, a plurality of modified images of the patient may be constructed to depict progressive stages of a treatment plan.
PREFORMED ORTHODONTIC ALIGNER ATTACHMENTS
The present disclosure describes articles, systems, and techniques including an additive manufactured orthodontic attachment including a body defining a retaining member configured to retain the article in a recess defined by a shell of a transfer tray; a coupling portion configured to engage a tool for insertion of the attachment into the recess of the transfer tray; and a bonding surface configured to bond the attachment to a portion of an outer surface of a tooth of a patient.
GINGIVA STRIP PROCESSING USING ASYNCHRONOUS PROCESSING
Methods and apparatuses for asynchronously identifying and modeling a gingiva strip from the three-dimensional (3D) dental model of the patient's dentition. These methods may reduce the time required to generate accurate 3D dental models and therefore may reduce and streamline the process of generating dental treatment plans.
Visual prosthetic and orthodontic treatment planning
Systems and methods for improved visual prosthetic and orthodontic treatment planning are provided herein. In some aspects, a method for preparing a tooth of a patient is disclosed. The method may comprise building a model of a dentition of the patient including a model of the initial shape of tooth. The method may also include determining a final prepared shape of the tooth. In some aspects, the method may also include generating a treatment plan comprising a plurality of steps to modify the initial shape of the tooth to the final prepared shape of the tooth. The method may also include rendering visualizations for the plurality of steps of the treatment plan. The visualizations may depict the removal of tooth material to modify the initial shape of the tooth to the final prepared shape of the tooth.
ELECTRONIC DENTAL CHARTING
Systems, methods, electronic devices and computer-readable media for charting dental information are described. The method includes generating or retrieving a dental data set including separately-modifiable parameters defining dental information relative to a base parametric model, the parameters providing information for generating signals for displaying a three-dimensional (3D) representation of at least a portion of a dentition represented by the dental data set; receiving an input via the 3D representation; and based on the received input, adjusting at least one of the parameters.
HISTORICAL SCAN REFERENCE FOR INTRAORAL SCANS
During an intraoral scan session, a processing device receives a plurality of intraoral images of a dental site. The processing device determines that a historical template of the dental site is existent and registers a first intraoral image of the plurality of intraoral images to the historical template at a first region of the dental site depicted in the historical template. The processing device may register one or more remaining intraoral images of the plurality of intraoral images to the historical template at a second region of the dental site depicted in the historical template. The first region may be separated from the second region.
Method for Using a Physical Object to Manipulate a Corresponding Virtual Object in a Virtual Environment, and Associated Apparatus and Computer Program Product
Systems and methods are provided for planning a procedure. A display device is configured to display a first virtual element. A controller device having a processor is configured to be in communication with the display device, and the controller device is further configured to direct the display device to display the first virtual element. A physical control element is in communication with the controller device, and is configured to correspond to the first virtual element such that an actual manipulation of the control element is displayed, via the processor of the controller device and on the display device, as a corresponding response of the first virtual element to the actual manipulation of the control element. Associated systems, methods, and computer program products are also provided.
SMART ORTHODONTIC BRACKET
The present invention provides an improved orthodontic bracket with integrated piezosensor chip determining even the slightest change in initial installation setup of orthodontic bracket system and further notifying the subscriber electronically comprising of orthodontic bracket, for holding the tooth; at least one wire, for connecting the orthodontic brackets; and at least one sensor chip placed on the bracket and/or on the wire, wherein, at least one pulse oximeter is installed at the periphery of the bracket base to ensure force applied are within biological limits; the invention provides a detachable wireless frequency transmitter to be placed on the bracket of tie-wing to permit clinical recycling of the bracket; and optionally allowing a handheld laser scanner/photospectrometer to measure the frictional coefficient between the archwire and bracket to determine exact amount of force required for tooth retraction; to determine the bonding technique for detecting voids in adhesive; and to determine the distance between forces applied and center of mass of the tooth.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRACKING TEETH MOVEMENT DURING ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT
Methods, systems, and apparatus's for improving orthodontic treatments. In an embodiment, an orthodontic tracking template is provided for assisting in determining whether a patient's teeth are in an appropriate tooth arrangement for transitioning between a wire and bracket orthodontic treatment to a patient-removable orthodontic appliance treatment. The tracking template may include a shell portion defining a plurality of tooth-receiving cavities arranged to fit over at least a portion of the patient's teeth in an intermediate tooth arrangement without applying a tooth-moving force to the teeth or to any brackets attached to the teeth.
