PLATE FOR INSERTION INTO THE PALATE AND A METHOD FOR ITS PRODUCTION
The invention relates to a plate (1) for insertion into the palate, the plate (1) having wings (4) on both sides of an imaginary center plane (9) running perpendicular to the plate (1), the wings being designed such that they bear against the palate at least in regions. The two webs (3) run on both sides of the central plane (9), so that a free space (6) running between the webs (3) is formed for receiving the vomer (13).
Releasable palatal expanders
Releasable and removable palatal expander apparatuses for expanding a patient's palate (“palatal expanders”) and methods of using and making them. These releasable palatal expanders are adapted for ease in removal by the patient or caregiver, and may include a breach region configured to predictably bend or break when a pulling force is applied. The palatal expander apparatuses described herein may include one or more locks for locking the palatal expander onto the patient's teeth. The lock(s) may be unlocked to release the palatal expander from the teeth. A lock may include a control for manually unlocking the lock. Unlocking the locks may allow the palatal expander to automatically disengage from the patient's teeth.

PALATAL EXPANSION DEVICE
A palatal expansion device is described. The palatal expansion device is used to expand a palate of a patient. The palatal expansion device includes one or more features which enhance the safety, accuracy, and efficiency of palatal expansion. A direction limiter controls the direction of rotation of a jackscrew. The direction limiter prevents incorrect expansion or compression of the palate. A mechanical turn counter counts the number of turns of the jackscrew. The mechanical turn counter disengages once a preset number of turns is achieved. The preset number of turns may be set by the orthodontist during each visit using a dial.

SYSTEMS FOR FABRICATING ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCES WITH POWER ARMS
Systems for fabricating dental appliances are provided. In some embodiments, a system comprising one or more processors, and a memory operably coupled to the one or more processors and storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to determine an appliance geometry for a dental appliance including a shell configured to move the patient's teeth from an initial arrangement toward a target arrangement. The appliance geometry can include a first power arm having a first connection point for connecting to the shell, a second power arm having a second connection point for connecting to the shell or to a tooth, an elongate connecting structure coupled to the first and second power arms, and an elongate counter-force connector coupled to the first power arm and extending toward the second power arm.
