Radiographic dental jigs and associated methods
11744530 · 2023-09-05 ·

Example radiographic dental jigs include a generally vertical post traversed by a generally horizontal beam to create a cross that can be used for marking a dental patient's midline (vertical line centered between the eyes), incisal edge plane, and forward lip position. The jig is radiographically scanned along with multiple fiducial markers on the patient's jaw to generate a first scan result. In some examples, physical models of the patient's jaws are also scanned to generate upper and lower jaw images. The upper and lower jaw images are shifted to coincide with the first scan result. Portions of the first scan result, including an image of the dental jig, are superimposed onto the properly shifted upper and lower jaw images to create a composite image. The composite image shows the dental jig in proper relation to the patient's upper and lower jaws, thereby rendering a conventional stick bite virtually obsolete.

The invention is a fastener for medical or dental use which requires minimal preparation of a site in bone. According to one embodiment the fastener includes a shank and a head having an aperture with a torque-receiving aperture such as a threaded hole or a polygon such as a hex-sided hole. The other end of the shank is a blunt or a sharp point. Another embodiment includes a radially spaced apart series of strakes each having a linearly spaced apart series of barbs. An alternative embodiment includes on the shank a radially spaced apart series of linear arrays of barbs emerging from the shank itself. The linear spacings may be staggered from one radial line to the next so that as a whole the barbs are arranged into one or more continuous helicies.

Equipment for Treatment of a Person

It is provided an equipment for treatment of a person, wherein the equipment is configured to achieve a target denture geometry characterized by a target denture plane (3), the target denture plane lying parallel to an internal ear line (11) through a left internal ear point (7) and a right internal ear point (9) of the person. Further, a manufacturing method is provided.

DENTAL PROSTHESIS
20210161624 · 2021-06-03 ·

Dental prosthesis comprising a dental implant comprising an external thread for screwing the dental implant into a jawbone and an internal thread arranged inside the dental implant. The dental prosthesis further comprises a superstructure having an internal bore and a screw for fastening the superstructure to the dental implant. The screw has a screw head with a cylindrical or conical lateral surface and a shank which adjoins a lower end of the screw head and on which an external thread is arranged. In an assembled state of the dental prosthesis, the screw is inserted through the internal bore of the superstructure into the dental implant and the external thread of the screw engages the internal thread of the dental implant. The screw head comprises a convexly rounded chin between the cylindrical or conical lateral surface and its lower end, with which chin the screw abuts the superstructure in the internal bore in the assembled state of the dental prosthesis.

IMPROVED FIXING PIN SUPPORT FOR DENTAL PROSTHESES AND METHOD OF THE MANUFACTURING THEREOF

An improved fixing pin support for a dental prosthesis in order to be able to connect the dental prosthesis to a jaw by means of fixing pins which can each be moved through a guide bore in the fixing pin support. The improved fixing pin support has a guide sleeve separate from it which can be temporarily fitted over the fixing pin support so that the guide bore can be formed in the fixing pin support through a guide channel in the guide sleeve, by precise guidance of a drill. After this, the guide sleeve can be removed from the fixing pin support.

Pluggable implant

A pluggable implant is disclosed that is comprising an implant body extending between a distal end and an apical end, and comprising a cavity extending from the distal end towards the apical end, the cavity capable of accommodating a plug insertable from the distal end towards the apical end, such that when the plug is fully inserted and located in its apically-most position, the plug seals the cavity. Moreover, there is a method for plugging a hollow implant is disclosed, the implant comprising an implant body extending between a distal end and an apical end, and comprising a cavity extending from the distal end towards the apical end; wherein a plug is removably inserted into the implant through the cavity from the distal end towards the apical end such that when the plug is in fully inserted position and located in its apically-most position, the plug seals the cavity.
