ELECTRICALLY-HEATABLE PLASTER
The invention relates to electrically-heatable plasters which comprise a self-adhesive skin contact layer, an electrically-conductive textile fabric in which electrically-conductive fibres are in contact with one another, as a heating element, and optionally at least one active substance, as well as to a method for production and the use of same for local heat therapy and/or transdermal application of active substances.
Moisture sensing wound dressing
A wound dressing is disclosed, the wound dressing comprising a first adhesive layer with a proximal surface configured for attachment of the wound dressing to the skin surface of a user; an absorbent core layer; an electrode assembly comprising a plurality of electrodes arranged on a distal side of the absorbent core layer, the electrode assembly comprising a plurality of sensor points distributed along a distal surface of the absorbent core layer; and a top layer on a distal side of the electrode assembly.
Peel and place dressing for negative-pressure therapy
A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure may comprise a cover having an adhesive, a manifold, a perforated polymer film, and a perforated silicone gel having a treatment aperture. The cover, the manifold, the perforated polymer film, and the perforated silicone gel may be assembled in a stacked relationship with the cover and the perforated silicone gel enclosing the manifold. The perforated polymer film may be at least partially exposed through the treatment aperture, and at least some of the adhesive may be exposed through the perforated silicone around the treatment aperture.
ABSORBENT COMPONENT
An absorbent component for a wound dressing comprises a stitch bonded nonwoven substrate wherein the nonwoven substrate is stitch bonded with an elastomeric yarn and wherein the nonwoven substrate comprises a superabsorbent material and/or a gelling material. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing the absorbent component, a wound dressing or a negative pressure apparatus comprising the absorbent component and a method of treating a wound using said wound dressing or negative pressure apparatus comprising the absorbent component.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SPLICING THREE-LAYER TAPES
A method and apparatus for automatically splicing two continuous three-layer tapes, wherein a longitudinally movable continuous wound tape is transversely cut so as to form individual wound pads which are applied in longitudinally spaced positions on adhesive surfaces of continuous carrier foils, and wherein a splicing element is cut from the continuous wound tape and is applied on tail and head portions of two continuous carrier foils.
WOUND DRESSING ARTICLES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
The present invention provides a medical dressing article and a method of manufacturing the same, which comprises: (a) a first layer comprised of polycaprocaptone fibers having a PCL fiber diameter of 0.5 μm and 2.9 μm; (b) a second layer, deposited directly on the first layer, including a mixture of polycaprolactone and poloxamer fibers (PCL and POX fibers) wherein a PCL and POX fiber diameter is between 0.1 μm and 4 μm; and (c) a third layer, deposited directly on the second layer, further comprising a mixture of gelatin and silver nitrate (AgNO.sub.3).
Medical dressing to treat sucking chest wound
A medical dressing including: a flexible base layer including a front surface configured to face a skin of a patient and a back surface opposite the front surface, wherein the flexible base layer includes a first opening; an adhesive layer on the front surface of the base layer; a flexible cover layer entirely covering the opening of the base layer; a flexible intermediate layer sandwiched between the base layer and the cover layer, wherein the base layer, cover layer and intermediate layer joined together along an annular pattern extending entirely around the first and second openings, wherein the annular pattern joints the base layer to the intermediate layer entirely around the first and second openings, and the annular pattern joins the layers around the first and second openings except at slots extending beyond an outer edge of the cover layer and ending before an outer edge of the intermediate layer.
BREATHABLE ADHESIVE BANDAGES
A breathable adhesive bandage, sticking plaster or plaster includes a fabric layer, a pad and an adhesive. The adhesive may provide only partial coverage of the fabric layer, allowing breathability. The pad and/or fabric layer may be formed from wool, such as merino wool. A backing may be applied to the adhesive layer.
Manufacturing method for wound dressings
A wound dressing having a thin barrier layer of soft, pliant adhesive material with a flexible cover layer extending along one side of the adhesive layer and a removable release sheet on the opposite side is disclosed. The adhesive material has a center and border surrounding the center such that the adhesive is contoured. A method for making the contoured dressing using a gear pump and a laminating roller having a predetermined softness and firmness is also disclosed.
