Sensing physiological parameters through an article
11607143 · 2023-03-21 · ·

Various examples are described for detecting heart rate and respiratory rate by using measurements of light applied to skin through an article. For example, a sensor application obtains a set of measurements of light. The application compensates for a contribution of the article based on one or more known optical properties of the article. The sensor application further determines, from the set of measurements of light, a periodic change in amplitude. The sensor application identifies the periodic change in amplitude as a heart rate having an identical periodicity. The sensor application identifies a respiratory rate as equal to the rate of change of the heart rate.

The present disclosure invention relates to a disposable absorbent article (100) comprising a liquid-pervious topsheet (10), a liquid-impervious backsheet (20) and an absorbent assembly (30) between the topsheet (10) and the backsheet (20). The absorbent assembly (30) comprises an absorbent core (40), an upper core wrap (50) and a lower core wrap (60). The absorbent core (40) comprises at least two cavities (70) free of absorbent material wherein the upper core wrap (50) and the lower core wrap (60) are permanently attached to each other, said cavities (70) being interconnected via at least one connecting line (80) comprising absorbent material. The absorbent core (40) has a first basis weight in the zone out of the cavities (70) and the connecting lines (80) and a second basis weight in the connecting lines (80), the first basis weight being greater than the second basis weight. in the cavities (70). The resulting absorbent assembly (30) may show all together a very good integrity, a very good distribution of fluids and a quick rate of absorption.

HYGIENE ARTICLE COMPRISING SKIN PROTECTION SHEET AND ABSORBENT CORE WITH WELL POSITIONED OPENINGS
20220331175 · 2022-10-20 · ·

The present invention relates to the field of hygiene appliances, in particular to hygiene articles comprising a means for reducing soiling of the skin of a wearer by body exudates such as faeces, urine, or menses. In particular, it relates to an article with a Skin Protection Sheet (SPS) that comprises a rear opening in registry with the anus during use, and a front opening in registry with a body exudate releasing body opening or genital organ. The openings are urged to the body by a pull means, whilst being spread open cross-directionally, allowing exudates to pass through. Such a hygiene article may suitably be a baby or adult diaper or pant, a training pant, or a menstrual pant.

PARTICULATE WATER-ABSORBENT RESIN COMPOSITION
20220314194 · 2022-10-06 ·

Disclosed is a particulate water-absorbent resin composition containing at least one selected from the group consisting of a microporous inorganic material, silver, and a silver compound, and a polymer particle, in which the polymer particle contains an inorganic reducing agent.

Absorbent Article Comprising Cyclodextrin Complexes

Disclosed are absorbent articles having a cyclodextrin complex of one or more odor controlling organic compounds wherein the cyclodextrin is a substituted cyclodextrin (wherein the H atom of OH groups in positions 2, 3 and 6 is partially or entirely replaced by a substituent —R) having a substitution degree (DS) of 0.4 or more —R substituents per molecule of cyclodextrin and wherein substitution in position 2 is 20% or above, in position 6 is 20% or above and in position 3 is 50% or below. Cyclodextrin complexes of this type release the odor controlling organic compound much faster and in more complete manner than non-substituted or differently substituted cyclodextrin complexes thus the odor control efficacy is improved.

The present invention provides for and improved diaper system including a proximal structure, a distal structure, and a securing configuration incorporated with the system, whereby each of the proximal structure and distal structure are constructing a range with one or more water absorbent polymers and have therein an interior cavity.

Stretch laminate, method of making, and absorbent article

A stretch laminate includes a first layer including an elastomer film, the first layer having a surface, and a second layer including a nonwoven material, the second layer having a surface that is attached to the surface of the first layer. The tensile behavior in the transverse direction of the stretch laminate is within about 2.5 N/cm of the tensile behavior in the transverse direction of the film at an engineering strain of about 1.5, and exists independent of mechanical activation. A method of making the stretch laminate and an absorbent article having at least one region defined by the stretch laminate are also provided.

The present invention is intended to improve the liquid diffusibility and fit of an absorber having a first slit extending in a front-back direction and second slits continuing laterally from the first slit to the side edges. The foregoing issue is solved by providing one first slit extending in the front-back direction in a width-direction intermediate portion of an absorber, providing second slits continuing from each of front end side and back end side of the first slit toward width-direction both sides to the side edges, and providing second slit elastic members to cross in the direction of continuance of the second slits and exert a contraction force in the direction of closing of the second slits.
