Capsular tension ring inserter and method

A capsular tension ring inserter (10) and method includes a cannula (54) adapted to house a capsular tension ring (CTR) (26) having a leading eyelet (32), a hook element (56) disposed within the cannula (54) that engages and moves the CTR (26) during deployment, and a suture (28) placed on the leading eyelet (32) and fed back through the cannula (54) to allow a user to control insertion of tile CTR (26) into a capsular bag (42) of an eye (40) by pulling on the suture (28) during insertion of the CTR (26).

INJECTOR ASSEMBLY FOR INSERTING AN INTRAOCULAR LENS

An ophthalmosurgical injector includes a cannula, a barrel, an outer plunger mounted in the barrel and together with the barrel delimiting a barrel cavity arranged in the barrel, and into which an intraocular lens can be introduced, and an inner plunger mounted in the outer plunger and together with the outer plunger delimiting an outer plunger cavity arranged in the outer plunger and into which a liquid can be introduced. The injector is configured such that a first movement, executed by the inner plunger relative to the outer plunger such that the outer plunger cavity becomes smaller, causes the liquid to flow from the outer plunger cavity into the barrel cavity, and a second movement, executed by the outer plunger relative to the barrel such that the barrel cavity becomes smaller, causes the intraocular lens to be pressed out of the barrel cavity and into the cannula.

SYSTEMS TO AFFIX DEVICES TO INTRAOCULAR LENS ASSEMBLIES AND RELATED METHODS

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to systems and methods for securing a drug delivery component to an intraocular lens (IOL) assembly. The systems generally include a support base and a plunger. The support base includes a first portion configured to accommodate a drug delivery component; and a second portion configured to act as a plunger guide. The plunger can be inserted into the plunger guide such that the plunger is positioned to interface with a drug delivery component and an IOL assembly during use. The plunger includes an elongated body and a tip, wherein the tip can include a ramp configured to interface with a fixation loop of a drug delivery component during use and a compartment configured to interface with a haptic of an IOL assembly during use.

Intraocular lens injector

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for implanting an intraocular lens into an eye are described. For example, an intraocular lens injector may include a passage formed in a distal end portion of the intraocular lens injector. The passage may define an interior surface, and a ramp may be formed on the interior surface so as to cause a leading haptic of an intraocular lens (IOL) being advanced through the passage to lift above a surface of an optic of the IOL to ensure proper folding of the IOL.

An apparatus that can be used to fold an intraocular lens or other implant before inserting it into an eye in various locations using variable surgical techniques. Some embodiments may comprise or consist essentially of a haptic folding mechanism configured to fold one or more haptics onto the top of an optic prior to the optic being folded into a nozzle. In some embodiments, a leading haptic lifter or lifting mechanism can be configured to raise and constrain a leading haptic during implant delivery. This leading haptic folding mechanism can actively lift the leading haptic onto the top of the optic.

Provided is an intraocular lens injector 1 for injecting an intraocular lens 4 into an eye. The intraocular lens injector 1 includes a hollow body, a lens setting portion 11 provided inside the hollow body, and a slider 6 for advancing the intraocular lens 4 set on the lens setting portion 11. A space 72 into which a part of the rear side of the intraocular lens 4 is capable of moving downward is provided at a position α on the inner-circumference lower portion of the hollow body, a front limit of a range of motion of a portion of the slider 6 that abuts against the outer circumference of an optical portion 41 of the intraocular lens 4 being encompassed above the position α.

Injector for introducing a capsular tension ring, and assembly and method for such an injector

An injector for introducing a capsular tension ring and intended for once-only use, and a method for manufacturing such an injector. The injector includes: a housing extending in longitudinal direction of the injector, and a throughfeed channel. A plunger is arranged movably in the channel and includes an engaging means for engaging the capsular tension ring, and further includes a guide element on a guide arm. A spring mechanism co-acts with the plunger and is configured to displace the plunger from a starting state, in which the engaging means engages the capsular tension ring, to an activating state in which the capsular tension ring is carried inward into the throughfeed channel. The housing has a guide with first and second channel parts, and a wall part for carrying the guide element from the first to the second channel part, and the first channel part is provided with a resistance threshold.
