A personal mobility assistance device includes lights that accent the shape of the device. The lights include a battery, a wire, and a plurality of light emitting devices connected to the wire and powered by the battery. The light emitting devices are spaced sufficiently close to each other along the wire such that, when the vehicle is observed in low light conditions, the shape of the personal mobility assistance device is discernable to the observer.

An orthopedic lounge chair includes a substantially flat support surface that has a length, a width, a front side, and a back side and defines a back support section, a seat section foldably joined to the back support section at a first fold junction, and a leg support section foldably joined to the seat section at a second fold junction, a first bolster support coupled to and rising away from the front side of the back support section, the first bolster support extending longitudinally at least a majority of the width of the support surface, a second bolster support coupled to and rising away from the front side of the seat support section, the second bolster support extending longitudinally at least a majority of the width of the support surface, and a third bolster support coupled to and rising away from the front side of the leg support section, the third bolster support extending longitudinally a majority of the width of the support surface, wherein the first bolster, the second bolster, and the third bolster are not located on the first fold junction or the second fold junction of the lounge chair.

There is provided herein an examination table that is capable of being converted to render either an examination configuration or a seating configuration. The table includes a planar table member having a suitable surface for the examination of a subject and is adjustable between a horizontal orientation for medical evaluation of the subject and a vertical orientation when in the table member is not in use for exams.

The epidural patient positioning system includes a base assembly having a plurality of casters, a vertical assembly extending upwardly from the base assembly, a pair of adjustable foot supports positioned on either side of the vertical assembly, and pair of adjustable arm supports positioned on either side of the vertical assembly, a torso support member positionable both vertically and laterally rom the vertical assembly, and a motor and control assembly.

The present invention related to a joint positioning device for positioning a joint and methods for using such devices. The joint positioning device may comprise a patient support comprising a substantially flat surface, the patient support configured to be positioned proximate to a chair; a shoulder pole mounted to the patient support, the shoulder pole oriented substantially perpendicular to a substantially flat surface of the patient support; and a cylindrical shoulder pad mounted to the shoulder pole, the shoulder pad oriented substantially perpendicular to the shoulder pole. The joint positioning device may further comprise a vertical pillar, the vertical pillar oriented substantially perpendicular to the substantially flat surface of the patient support.

There is provided herein an examination table that is capable of being converted to render either an examination configuration or a seating configuration. A personal mobility assistance device includes a frame that includes a first ridged component moveable relative to a second ridged component by a linkage mechanism. The first rigid frame component has a first light emitter mounted in a first opening in the first rigid frame component and the second rigid frame component has a second light emitter mounted in a second opening in the second rigid frame component. The first light emitter is connected to a first component conductor portion of a conductor within the first rigid component and the second light emitter connected to a second component conductor portion of the conductor within the second rigid component. A conductor connection mechanism within the linkage mechanism includes a plurality of contacts that electrically connect the second component conductor portion to the first conductor portion when the linkage mechanism is in at least one position.

A patient support apparatus includes a base, a seat supported by the base and a backrest pivotable between an upright position and a reclined position. In one embodiment, a backrest support member is coupled to the backrest and is adapted to move between a stowed position in which the backrest support member does not support the backrest and a deployed position in which the backrest support member does support the backrest. Movement to the deployed position occurs in response to activation of an emergency control. In other embodiments, the base includes a portion that moves into an extended position underneath the backrest when the backrest is in the reclined position. Movement of the base portion to the extended position also occurs in response to activation of an emergency control.
