PATIENT TRANSPORT APPARATUS

A patient transport apparatus (100, 10) which is configurable in at least three modes of operation, according to specific operational requirements. The apparatus (100, 10) comprises a patient support assembly 12 and at least a first and second wheel arrangement (14, 16). The patient support assembly 12 comprises a main portion 12.1, and a first and second portion (12.2, 12.3) extending from opposite sides of the main portion 12.1. The first and second portions (12.2, 12.3) are independently adjustable relative to the main portion 12.1. The first and second wheel arrangements (14, 16) are independently adjustable relative to the patient support assembly 12. The patient transport apparatus (100, 10) is configurable as a stretcher, as a chair (or wheelchair) and as a stair chair, by relative adjustment of the patient support assembly 12 and the first and second wheel arrangements (14, 16).

Patient Transport Apparatus User Interface

A patient transport apparatus operable by a user for transporting a patient along stairs. A seat section is coupled to a support structure supporting a track assembly having a belt. A motor selectively generates torque to drive the belt. A user interface is arranged for engagement by the user, and has a direction input control for selecting a drive direction of the motor, and an activation input control for operating the motor to drive the belt. A controller in communication with the motor and the user interface is configured to limit operation of the motor in response to user engagement of the activation input control preceding engagement of the direction input control to prevent driving the belt, and to permit operation of the motor in response to user engagement of the activation input control following engagement of the direction input control to drive the belt in a selected drive direction.

Patient support apparatus with a side ramp

A patient support apparatus supports a patient and comprises a litter. The litter comprises a patient support deck and extends longitudinally between first and second ends. A base is configured to support the litter and comprises a base lift mechanism configured to move the litter between lifted and lowered base positions. A side ramp is coupled to the patient support deck along the litter between the first and second ends and extends laterally away from the patient support deck to an engagement end. The side ramp is pivotable relative to the litter between first and second positions. In the first position, the side ramp is planar with or angled upwardly to extend above the patient support deck. In the second position, the side ramp is angled downwardly to extend below the patient support deck for contacting the floor surface with the engagement end when in the lowered base position.

This tracked vehicle for the transportation of at least one reduced mobility person comprises an endless track drive (10) on each side of a passenger compartment. Each endless track drive comprises an endless belt (102A-102D), an electric motor connected to a drive pulley (108) in engagement with the belt, an idle pulley; a sub-frame (110) supporting the drive pulley and the idle pulley, respectively around a first rotation axis (Y108) and a second rotation axis (Y112) parallel to the first rotation axis; and a suspension system. The suspension system includes two articulated arms (116, 120) mounted on the sub-frame (110) with a possibility of rotation around a first articulation axis (Y116) and a second articulation axis (Y120) parallel to the first and second rotation axes (Y108, Y112), each articulated arm being equipped with several rollers (118, 119) in permanent contact with an upper surface (S102) of a lower strand (102B) of the endless belt, between the two pulleys (108, 112), and with a set of teeth (1166, 1206) in meshing engagement with the set of teeth of the other arm. The suspension system also includes elastic means for biasing (E1) the sets of teeth (1166, 1206) of the two articulated arms (116, 120) toward the lower strand (102B) of the endless belt.
