Crutch
Embodiments of crutches are disclosed. A crutch has a main body having a substantially vertical tubular member with a plurality of apertures formed therein; an angled portion extending upwardly from the substantially vertical tubular member; an arm rest support extending perpendicularly from the angled portion for receiving an arm rest; and a handle extending outwardly from the arm rest support. The crutch further includes a leg telescopically received into the substantially vertical tubular member, and a foot exchangably received by the leg.
Crutch
An improved crutch includes an improved shock absorbing mechanism, lighting components, and an improved tip component. The improved shock absorber mechanism utilizes compressible spheres that are compressed when a person supports all or partial of their body weight onto the crutch and are uncompressed when the weigh is removed. This compression of the spheres absorbs any impact from the walking surface to the person's body. The elasticity of the compressible spheres is adjusted by forming a central through-opening through the sphere, varying the number of the sphere, their diameter and material.
Biomechanical Weight-Bearing Crutch
The present disclosure includes a biomechanical weight-bearing crutch that may replace conventional crutches in use today. Unlike conventional crutches, the crutch of the present disclosure enables a user to immediately walk in a hands-free fashion. The biomechanical weight-bearing crutch is a form fitting device that can be worn inside or outside of the user's clothes. The movement of the crutch is automatically and synchronously performed as part of the gait motion, instead of today's cumbersome crutch motion where the users have to physically lift and move the crutch.
Biomechanically derived crutch
A crutch having a first side direction, a second side direction opposite the first side direction, a third side direction perpendicular to the first side direction and a fourth side direction opposite the third side direction, the crutch including an elongate leg having a top end, a top portion, a middle portion, a bottom portion, and a bottom end, wherein the elongate leg extends from a saddle to a foot and has a handle disposed on the middle portion, wherein the saddle extends in an elongate shape between the first side direction and the second side direction, wherein the handle extends in an elongate shape between the first side direction and the second side direction, wherein the elongate leg middle portion is to the third side direction of an axis extending between the leg and the foot, wherein the elongate leg middle portion is to the first side direction of an axis extending between the top end of the elongate leg and the bottom end of the elongate leg; and wherein the handle is cantilevered and has a fixed end and a free end.
GAIT ASSIST APPARATUS
A gait assist apparatus having assemblies for a chassis, shock absorption, swivel wheel (casters), pivot, crutch and spring tension. The crutch is fitted onto an upper shaft of a pivot housing to pivot relative to the chassis. A pair of topside tension springs extend from a shock absorption plate to the middle of the crutch. A pair of underside tension springs extends from the bottom end of the crutch to the underside of the chassis. Suspension springs space the shock absorption plate above the chassis. One of the underside tension springs possesses a tension/compression force greater than that of the other tension springs. One of the topside tension springs possesses a tension/compression force greater than that of the other topside tension springs.
ORTHOTIC DEVICE
An orthotic device for assisting a user in walking includes an underarm support assembly configured to support a user's weight without damage to their nerves, and upright support pivotally connected to the underarm support assembly and a ground engaging assembly pivotally connected to the upright support. In one embodiment, the underarm support assembly is spring biased relative to the upright support to bias the upright support to an orientation substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal dimension of the underarm support. The ground engaging assembly is also biased to bias the ground engaging assembly to a position perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the upright support while allowing the ground engaging assembly to pivot about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal dimension of the upright support and about an axis parallel to the longitudinal dimension of the upright support.
Manual Walk-Assist and Accessories Combo
The present invention is a lower extremity exoskeleton wearable that acts as a walk-aid for the segment of the population that would otherwise have a limited ability to walk, or not be able to walk at all. The invention also provides for other functions curtailed by paraplegia, and other health issues. The accessories, as described, are those items, in which absence does not hinder the user from walking with the walk-aid wearable. The user of the invention, with low to average flexibility of legs, and the ability to stand for a period of time, regardless of disability, will be able to simulate a walking motion with recurrent swings of their arms, enabling the user to move around via walking with the wearable. In contrast to other walk-aids currently available, the functions of the walk-aid are achieved without any motorization, computerization or outside power source.
BIOMECHANICAL AND ERGONOMICAL ADJUSTABLE CRUTCH
A rotatable shock absorber assembly for a crutch. A guide pin is removably fixable within the upper portion of a support leg. A piston comprises a flange arranged proximate a saddle, comprising a top surface having two or more arcuate rotation grooves defined therein, and a main body defining an elongate slot enabling the guide pin to be inserted therethrough, such that the piston can translate along the elongate axis relative to the guide pin. A joint, can operably couple the piston to the saddle. The joint can rotate about the elongate axis relative to the piston. A biasing mechanism is configured to urge the piston along the elongate axis toward the armpit of the user whereby the saddle can be held stable in the armpit of the user and the support leg can rotate about, and translate along the elongate axis during use.
MOBILITY AIDS AND RELATED METHODS
A mobility aid is provided for use in supporting at least part of a user's body weight. The mobility aid generally includes a leg, a support configured to receive at least part of a forearm of a user's arm, a handle configured to be grasped by the user, and a force distribution member configured to engage a user's side and provide support to the user. The support extends away from the leg and is arranged at an angle with the leg of between about fifteen degrees and about forty-five degrees. The handle extends away from the leg and is arranged at an angle with the leg of between about fifteen degrees and about forty-five degrees. The force distribution member is pivotally coupled to the support such that the mobility aid can be used on either a right side or a left side of the user's body.

A crutch having a first side direction, a second side direction opposite the first side direction, a third side direction perpendicular to the first side direction and a fourth side direction opposite the third side direction, the crutch including an elongate leg having a top end, a top portion, a middle portion, a bottom portion, and a bottom end, wherein the elongate leg extends from a saddle to a foot and has a handle disposed on the middle portion, wherein the saddle extends in an elongate shape between the first side direction and the second side direction, wherein the handle extends in an elongate shape between the first side direction and the second side direction, wherein the elongate leg middle portion is to the third side direction of an axis extending between the leg and the foot, wherein the elongate leg middle portion is to the first side direction of an axis extending between the top end of the elongate leg and the bottom end of the elongate leg; and wherein the handle is cantilevered and has a fixed end and a free end.
