CRYOTHERAPY DEVICE
The present invention relates to a device for manipulating core body temperature of a human subject by convection and conduction, the device comprising: an open topped liquid carrier vessel adapted to receive a liquid, the liquid carrier vessel having an inlet and an outlet in the base thereof; a removable splash guard for covering the majority of the liquid carrier vessel opening and for resting thereon of a human extremity having an exposed glabrous skin surface; chiller means for cooling liquid received in the vessel and for maintaining the liquid at a predetermined temperature; a jet in the vessel inlet for discharging liquid, or a combination of liquid and air into the liquid carrier vessel; an air valve for controlling the amount of air flowing through the jet; a pump configured to suck liquid from the liquid carrier vessel via the vessel outlet into a suction side of the pump and propel liquid out of a pressure side of the pump into the liquid carrier vessel through the vessel inlet via the chiller means to create a jet stream within the liquid carrier vessel at the predetermined temperature; first conduit means interconnecting the vessel outlet with the suction side of the pump; second conduit means interconnecting the chiller means with the pressure side of the pump; third conduit means interconnecting the chiller means with the jet; and fourth conduit means interconnecting the jet with the air valve; wherein the splash guard is provided with an aperture to allow the jet stream to contact the exposed glabrous skin surface of the subject during operation of the device; and wherein when the splash guard is in place, the aperture is located directly above the jet.
CONTINUOUS AND PULSED AIR MASSAGER
An air massager includes an air flow generator having an output, a nozzle in fluid communication with the output, and a pulsed air generator located between the output and the nozzle. Operation of the pulsed air generator alternately allows and restricts air flow from the output to the nozzle. A method of operating the massager is also provided.
Communication robot and method for operating the same
A communication robot for operating a massage providing apparatus by executing an artificial intelligence algorithm (AI) and/or machine learning algorithm in a 5G environment connected for the Internet of things and a method for operating the communication robot are provided. The method for operating the communication robot may include acquiring a spoken utterance of a user positioned within a prescribed range from the massage providing apparatus, tracking a spoken utterance direction of the user from the spoken utterance of the user, orienting the communication robot towards the spoken utterance direction of the user, acquiring a voice command included in the spoken utterance in relation to operation of the massage providing apparatus, and operating the massage providing apparatus according to the voice command.
Stimulating the Hairy Skin Through Ultrasonic Mid-Air Haptic Stimulation
Use of ultrasound beams to unlock the perception of mid-air tactile stimuli on hairy skin by using acoustic streaming is described. Such acoustic streaming is directional, more focused than fan and air-puff devices, doesn't require the use of cumbersome attachments, fast since it can be generated at a distance with the speed of sound, and can be used in a complementary fashion with vibrotactile mid-air stimulation deriving from the same hardware. Further proposed is a way to modulate the thermal perception of the mid-air tactile stimuli without the need for a thermal source or wearables. The effect of acoustic streaming and its thermal modulation may be combined for the accurate elicitation of affective touch sensations.
Massage device for pressure wave massage
A massage device for massaging by means of pressure waves includes a housing having a handle segment and a massage segment and at least one chamber comprising an opening leading outward in the massage segment. The chamber includes an end wall segment, a first circumferential wall segment, and a second circumferential wall segment, the first circumferential wall segment being disposed between the end wall segment and the second circumferential wall segment, and the second circumferential wall segment defining the opening with the end wall segment being at least partially displaceable. The massage device further includes a drive device for inducing a predetermined vibration in the end wall segment, with the first circumferential wall segment being substantially rigid and the second circumferential wall segment being substantially flexible.
HIGH FREQUENCY CHEST WALL OSCILLATION AIR PULSE GENERATOR HAVING PRESSURE SENSOR FOR FEEDBACK CONTROL
A high frequency chest wall oscillation therapy system includes an air pulse generator. The air pulse generator includes control circuitry and a fluid chamber carrying a fluid. A motor is configured to generate compression and expansion of the fluid in the fluid chamber to generate pressurized fluid. A pressure sensor detects a pressure of the pressurized fluid in the fluid chamber. A garment includes at least one fluid bladder defining a pressurizable chamber adapted to receive the pressurized fluid from the fluid chamber to provide a force of high frequency pressure oscillation to a patient's chest wall.
Personal Massage Device Having at Least One Sealed Chamber
Embodiments of the present invention relate to an improved stimulation device. More specifically, the simulation device comprises a cup formed of a flexible resilient material, with a cavity, and opening and a flexible cap which may swell and unswell in response to internal pressure changes in the cavity of the device to match a user's preferences.
METHODS FOR TREATING SPASTICITY USING ANTI-SPASMODIC COMPOSITIONS AND NEGATIVE PRESSURE THERAPY
A composition, method and related systems for treating and/or preventing spasticity in a patient using negative pressure therapy. The negative pressure therapy may include intermittent application of negative pressure to a limb or portion of a body, such as alternating between periods of negative pressure and ambient pressure. The negative pressure therapy may be applied on a regular basis for a predetermined period, such that an effective amount of negative pressure for treating spasticity and other symptoms of neurogenerative diseases is administered. The negative pressure therapy may be applied to cause intermittent activation of the venous arterial reflex in the body for a sustained period, such that symptoms of neurogenerative diseases are alleviated or prevented.
EAR PUMPS
A manual ear pump including one or more of a support element configured to releasably engage an external ear canal and having an interior chamber, a resilient element capable of being resiliently deformed coupled to a support element, and an aperture disposed on a support element bottom surface communicating with the external ear canal and interior chamber.
STIMULATION DEVICE
A stimulation device is described having a pressure field generating device which has a cavity and a medium influencing arrangement. The stimulation device uses a first check valve arrangement, arranged inside the cavity between the application opening and the medium-influencing arrangement, and is movable at least in sections in the direction of the application opening and away from it and has a first check valve which is designed to close in the direction of the application opening and to open in the direction of the medium influencing arrangement, wherein the cavity has a first section and a second section, and a second check valve arrangement, which connects the first section of the cavity to an outside of the stimulation device and has a second check valve.
