SMART MEDICATION CONTAINER
Various embodiments relate to systems and methods for monitoring adherence to a medication regimen through the use of a smart medication container. The container can include an electronic display that presents relevant information, such as dosage and/or medication information, instructions, user information, messages, notifications, and device information (e.g., battery status, network connectivity status). A pair of conductive elements positioned on either side of the container's opening can be configured to continually measure capacitance in order to identify when contents (e.g., pills) leave the container. More than one pair of conductive elements may be used to improve accuracy and reduce the effects of noise. A processor is able to analyze the capacitance data and determine whether medication has been dispensed from the container and, if so, how much medication was dispensed. A computer system can then compare the results to a planned medication regimen to determine a state of compliance.
Automated medication disposal messaging system
Techniques are described for automated medication disposal messaging. One method includes receiving information associated with a prescription order of a user account. In some cases, the information associated with the prescription order includes a medication identifier, medication dosage indication, and medication quantity. The method may include calculating a run out date corresponding to the target medication with the disposal guideline based on the medication dosage indication and the medication quantity. The method may also include communicating a disposal notification for the target medication based on the run out date.
MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE WITH USAGE MONITORING
A medicament delivery device is presented having a housing that is arranged to accommodate a medicament container, a drive unit operably arranged to act on the medicament container upon activation, an activation mechanism operably arranged to be operated by a user, an activation preventing mechanism operably arranged to prevent the activation mechanism to be activated, an usage management module arranged to be operated by a user, which usage management module is designed as an attachable unit to the medicament delivery device. First keying elements are arranged on the device and on the usage management module designed to interact with each other when attaching said usage management module, such as to cause a deactivation of the activation preventing mechanism to allow operation of the activation mechanism. The usage management module can include a monitoring circuit arranged to monitor the use of the medicament delivery device.
Tactical medicine dispensers
A portable medicament case that includes a medicament provided in a package, and first and second housing members that are configured to form a medicament package receiving cavity when joined together. Each housing member including a mating member that is configured for engagement with the other housing member in order to join the first and second housing members together in a sealed configuration that prevents moisture or contaminants from entering into the cavity. Also, a magazine containing a plurality of medicament cases for administration of medicaments to a group of people, and a method of administering medications to mass casualties of multiple persons that are in need thereof. The medicaments are rapidly disintegratable and can include a dye that stains the person's mouth so that medical personnel can determine who has been treated with the medicament.
PRESCRIPTION MONITORING SYSTEM
A monitoring system includes a weight sensor for receiving a vial containing a controlled substance possessed by a patient. A processor receives a weight measured by the weight sensor. A communication circuit transmits the weight measured by the weight sensor to a remote server. The weight sensor may be mounted in a container having a first compartment and a second compartment. The first compartment has a first lid that is releasable without any lock. A second compartment has a second lid that is secured by a lock. The weight sensor is mounted inside the second compartment.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR VIRTUAL HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, by a processing system including a processor of an end user device of a user, medication information indicating a reminder to take a medication, where the medication information is received over a wireless network from a virtual healthcare assistant operating on a customer device located at a premises, and where the medication information indicates an identification of a wireless transceiver of a medicine container that houses the medication to be dispensed. The end user device determines a user position and determines a container position of the medicine container. The end user device presents navigation information that facilitates movement by the user towards the medicine container. In other embodiments, a display device can be from among a group of display devices according to a position of the user in the premises; and a video conference can be established with the communication device of the healthcare provider that is presented at the display device of the user. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Systems and methods for dispensing medications and supplements
A medication dispensing device comprising a rotating platform configured for receiving a plurality of medication dispensing containments housing a plurality of pills comprising medication or supplements, and a scanner or user input for identifying the one or more medication containments and receiving data specific to the medication or supplements provided therein, wherein the medication containment has a lower surface with a dispensing opening and pill capture head sized according to at least one dimension of the plurality of pills contained therein, and a medication sweeper disposed above the pill capture head and between the plurality of pills so as to selectively direct is single pill out the dispensing opening while blocking a remainder of the plurality of pills in the containment. A motor-driven first gear is coupled to the pill capture head and medication sweeper such that rotation of the gear affects rotation of the pill capture head with respect to the medication sweeper to dispense the single pill, wherein the motor receives commands from data acquired by the scanner to affect dispensing of the single pill.
Medicine box
The present disclosure provides a medicine box, including a housing, a door, a first clamping member, and a second clamping member, a cavity is formed inside the housing, the housing has an opening on a top surface; an end of the door is rotatably connected with one side of the housing at the opening, an end of the first clamping member is connected with the other end of the door, and the other end of the first clamping member includes a first magnetic portion; an end of the second clamping member is connected with the other side of the housing at the opening, and the other end of the second clamping member includes a second magnetic portion; and a clamping area with a changeable size is formed between the first magnetic portion and the second magnetic portion.
Smart booklet with integrated behavior incentivization and tracking features
A method of configuring a smart booklet to encourage adherence to a treatment and/or educational program is disclosed, wherein the smart booklet is “off the grid” (e.g., not connected to an electrical or networking grid) and includes an integrated behavior incentivization feature. Based on an activation of a detection feature of the smart booklet, it is detected whether a state of one or more pages of the smart booklet has changed. Based on the determination that the state of the one or more pages has changed, a set of data items pertaining to the adherence to the treatment and/or educational program is created or updated. Based on an identification that the set of data items is indicative of a failure or a success with respect to the adherence to the treatment program, a message pertaining to the failure or the success is communicated via an output component of the smart booklet (e.g., to encourage the adherence to the treatment and/or educational program).
Apparatus and method of dispensing pharmaceuticals and other medications
A medication dispensing apparatus includes a housing for at storing at least one medication in bulk, a dispenser, and a verification sensor. The at least one medication including a plurality of doses of the at least one medication. The dispenser separates a single dose from the at least one medication in bulk. The dispenser moves the single dose of the at least one medication from a position within the housing to a position outside the housing. The verification sensor verifies that the at least one medication is a correct medication.
