MACROPHAGE-BASED THERAPY FOR USE IN THE TREATMENT OF LIVER INJURY
20190240256 · 2019-08-08 ·

The present invention relates to alternatively activated macrophages (AAMs) for use in the treatment of liver injury and methods of treating and preventing liver injury using AAMs.

TRANSPOSON SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USE
20190233843 · 2019-08-01 ·

Disclosed are methods for the ex-vivo genetic modification of an immune cell comprising delivering to the immune cell, (a) a nucleic acid or amino acid sequence comprising a sequence encoding a transposase enzyme and (b) a recombinant and non-naturally occurring DNA sequence comprising a DNA sequence encoding a transposon.

CELL PREPARATION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CELL PREPARATION
20190216856 · 2019-07-18 · ·

The present invention provides a method for producing a cell culture for promoting angiogenesis or axon outgrowth, particularly for the treatment of a cerebrovascular disease, an ischemic cardiac disease or traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury, which comprises culturing a cell population containing microglia and/or monocytes under conditions of low oxygen concentration and/or low sugar concentration to produce the culture, a cell preparation obtained by the method, and a method for treating a cerebrovascular disease, an ischemic cardiac disease or traumatic cerebrospinal neuropathy by using the cell preparation.

ARTIFICIAL ANTIGEN PRESENTING CELLS FOR GENETIC ENGINEERING OF IMMUNE CELLS
20190211075 · 2019-07-11 ·

Disclosed herein are methods of producing chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells using substrates, such as artificial antigen presenting cells, containing on a surface a a heparin binding domain (HBD), anti-CD3 single chain antibodies, anti-CD28 single chain antibodies (scFv), and optionally anti-41BBL antibodies. Anti-CD3 and Anti-CD28 scFvs bind and activate expanding T cells ex vivo, while the Heparin Binding Domain binds the viral vector, thereby bringing the T cells into close proximity with virus for effective gene transfer. This is a less costly, renewable, modifiable, and efficacious alternative to coated beads and RetroNectin? for gene transfer.

METHODS OF TREATING HYPERTENSION

Provided are CD4+ T-cell-based compositions and methods for treating hypertension.

Ischemic tissue cell therapy

The present invention is directed to compositions and methods for treatment of ischemic diseases and conditions, particularly myocardial, CNS/brain and limb ischemia. More particularly, the present invention provides methods of treating disorders by administering monocytes obtained from blood, including umbilical cord blood, peripheral blood, or bone marrow to an individual in need of treatment, wherein the drug is administered to the individual at a time point specifically determined to provide therapeutic efficacy. In one embodiment, the cells are for injection into ischemic myocardium for the treatment of angina.

Stimulation of mesenchymal stem cell therapeutic activities by T regulatory cells

Disclosed are novel means of enhancing mesenchymal stem cell regenerative activities including, intra alia, production from pulmonary leakage and suppression of scar tissue formation by co-administration with T regulatory cells. In some embodiments the invention provides an interaction between T regulatory cells and mesenchymal stem cells in which T regulatory cells stimulate upregulation of mesenchymal stem cell activity in a GITR dependent manner.

MACROPHAGE CELL THERAPY TO TREAT ORTHOPEDIC INJURY

An ex vivo generated population of tissue-specific alternatively-activated macrophages and methods of making and using such macrophages for treating orthopedic injury are provided.

MODIFIED STEM CELL MEMORY T CELLS, METHODS OF MAKING AND METHODS OF USING SAME
20190119636 · 2019-04-25 ·

The disclosure provides a method of producing modified stem memory T cells (e.g. CAR-T cells) for administration to a subject as, for example an adoptive cell therapy.
