An aqueous antiperspirant composition comprising: 1) a metal salt with a M:X mole ratio from about 0.25 to 0.5, wherein X is an anion with a −1 or −2 charge and M is a metal ion with a +2, +3 or +4 charge; 2) an amino acid wherein the M:amino acid mole ratio is from about 5 to about 0.33; and 3) wherein the pH of the composition is from about 2 to about 4.

A method for the color retention of dyed keratin fibers is provided herein. The method includes i. applying a cosmetic composition to dyed keratin fibers as a pretreatment agent for keratin. The method further includes ii. subjecting the keratin fibers to a dyeing and/or brightening within a period of about 5 seconds to about 24 hours after to step i.
