Safe operation of integrated negative pressure wound treatment apparatuses
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for safe operation of a wound treatment apparatus with electronic components integrated on or within a wound dressing. In some embodiments, the electronic components include a power source, an isolation circuit, a controller, a capacitor, and a negative pressure source. The isolation circuit provides multiple activation states with at least one state preventing application of power to the other electronic components capable of storing electrical energy, thereby providing a safe operation of the apparatus. For example, sterilization of the apparatus can be performed safely.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRACKING MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS CLEANING AND STERILIZATION
Methods and systems for tracking a cassette containing one or more instruments in an instrument reprocessing are provided. A method for tracking an cassette housing one or more instruments in an instrument reprocessing, comprising: sterilizing, at a sterilizer, the cassette; receiving, at a server, a chemical indicator identification encrypted by a private key after the cassette is sterilized; decrypting, at the server, the chemical indicator identification with a corresponding public key; and in response to decryption of the chemical indicator identification, authenticating, at the server, the chemical indicator identification.
METHOD FOR CLEANING MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
A method for cleaning medical equipment by scrubbing the equipment with an open-cell melamine-formaldehyde foam comprising an antibacterial active composition, and wherein the open-cell melamine-formaldehyde foam is prepared from a melamine-formaldehyde precondensate, wherein the molar ratio melamine to formaldehyde of the melamine-formaldehyde precondensate is smaller than 0.5.
A Device for Retaining an Object in a Sterilization/Disinfection Apparatus
Embodiments of the invention are directed to a device (10) for retaining an object in a disinfection apparatus. The device includes at least one support member (12) for contact engagement with one or more contact surfaces of the object. The at least one support member is formed from a material that allows a disinfection media to reach the one or more contact surfaces of the object such that the one or more contact surfaces are disinfected during a disinfection process.
Medical device inspection system
A medical device inspection system may include a base, a medical device holder on the base, a fiber scope holder on the base, a moveable roller moveably attached to the base such that it is free to rotate around an axis and move from a first position to a second position along the base, and a feeder coupled with the base for feeding a flexible portion of the fiber scope into a lumen of the medical device. During use, the flexible portion of the fiber scope may extend from the handle, around the moveable roller, and through the feeder to enter an opening in the lumen of the medical device.
ENDOSCOPE, ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM, AND OPERATION METHOD OF ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM
An endoscope includes an insertion section, a channel, a raising base and a sterilizing device. The insertion section includes a distal end portion, and the distal end portion includes a recess. The channel is disposed in the insertion section, the channel communicating with the recess and the channel configured to receive a treatment instrument. The raising base is disposed in the recess, the raising base configured to guide the treatment instrument to protrude from the recess. The sterilizing device is disposed in the distal end portion, the sterilizing device configured to sterilize one or more of the channel and the recess and the raising base.
COMPLIANCE-BASED CLEANING DEVICE
A compliance-based cleaning device includes an internal housing and a sanitization chamber coupled to the internal housing and configured to receive a piece of equipment to be cleaned. The sanitization chamber transitions between an open position and a closed position by rotating about an axis within the internal housing. The device further includes a cleaning member located in proximity to the sanitization chamber and configured to perform a cleaning process on the piece of equipment in response to the sanitization chamber entering the closed position.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR STERILIZING MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS
A method and apparatus for sterilizing a medical instrument, such as a dental instrument. The method includes placing the medical instrument in a chamber, providing a sterilizing agent including recombined ionized humidified air, controlling the temperature of the medical instrument and/or the chamber such that the temperature of the medical instrument is below the temperature of chamber, and at least partially condensing the sterilizing agent onto the instruments.
Self-sterilising Urinary Catheter
The present invention relates to urinary catheters, in particular indwelling urinary catheters, with self-sterilising capabilities. There is disclosed a catheter for insertion into the bladder of a patient, the catheter comprising an elongate body having a distal portion configured to reside in the patient's body, and a proximal portion configured to be left outside of the body of the patient. The catheter may further comprise at least one light generator provided within the distal portion of the elongate body so as to emit light, wherein said light comprises sterilising light.
ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING A PRE-LOADED IMPLANT AND METHODS OF STERILIZING ASSEMBLIES
Aspects of the disclosure relate to storage assemblies including at least part of a delivery device and an implant. The storage assemblies are configured to trap sterilizing ethylene oxide gas using its high water solubility and converting the escaped ethylene oxide to less detrimental ethylene glycol and ethylene chlorohydrin to protect the implant from damage. In one example, the storage assembly includes an inner container housing the implant and sterilizing fluid and an outer container positioned over the inner container, wherein the outer container is at least partially filled with aqueous water. The implant may be a prosthetic heart valve. Aspects of the disclosure also relate to methods of sterilizing the storage assemblies of the disclosure.
