INJECTION DEVICE WITH SAFE TRIGGER FUNCTION

An injection device is disclosed comprising a plunger for expressing medicament from a syringe and a delivery mechanism arranged in use to provide a forward biasing force to urge the plunger from a first rearward position to a second forward position to express a dose from the syringe. A latch arrangement is provided that releasably holds the plunger against the force of the de livery mechanism. The latch arrangement comprising at least two resilient segments which define opposing sections of an aperture within which a rearward end of the plunger is retained in the rearward position. A trigger is provided for releasing the plunger in use, the trigger being arranged to outwardly deflect at least one of the resilient segments such that the aperture is expanded to release the rearward end of the plunger. A method of manufacturing the injection device is also enclosed.

The present invention relates to a syringe with an improved needle retraction mechanism, comprising: (a) a cylindrical barrel, (b) a needle holder, (c) a hollow plunger, (d) a rod, (e) an extractor element, and (f) a recovery tension or compression spring, the extractor element being movably displaceable from an advanced position to a retracted position, said extractor element having a male protrusion to engage the internal cavity of the needle holder to join the extractor element to the needle holder, and hooking means defining a connection between the plunger and the extractor element, and wherein the axial hole of the plunger is defined by a plurality of bendable flanges which are configured to slide over the needle holder, said bendable flanges thereby bending outwardly and expanding the axial hole of the plunger, and whereby the extractor element is disconnected from said plunger and is retracted towards its retracted position. The present invention also relates to a syringe kit wherein the syringe is provided with an improved needle retraction mechanism as described herein.

A stopper for use within a medicament container, preferably a plastic container, is presented having a main body defining an open distal end and a closed proximal end, where the main body has a longitudinal axis L. A cup shaped tip portion is integrally formed with the main body adjacent the closed proximal end and a distally extending flexible skirt extends from a distal end outer surface of the main body, where the distally extending flexible skirt has a rib which extends radially outward around a perimeter of the distally extending flexible skirt. A proximally extending flexible skirt extends from a proximal end outer surface of the main body, where the proximally extending flexible skirt has at least two ribs which extend radially outward around a perimeter of the proximally extending flexible skirt and that are axially spaced apart along the proximally extending flexible skirt.

PRE-FILLED SYRINGE WITH OPTIMIZED STOPPER PLACEMENT
20220062557 · 2022-03-03 ·

A pre-filled syringe includes a barrel with a medicament and a stopper within the barrel. The stopper has at least two adjacent sealing rings and a trim ring. The syringe has a head space distance between a distal-most surface of the stopper and the surface of the medicament. The head space (a) provides sufficient space to optimize reconstituting a drug suspension by shaking or agitating the drug suspension, and (b) minimizes frothing and/or clogging of the reconstituted drug suspension in the barrel. Also, a kit includes the syringe, a plunger, a syringe cap, and a needle assembly. Further, a method for stoppering the syringe includes determining the head space distance.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE

There is provided drug delivery devices comprising a drug container assembly with a needle and automatic needle insertion and drug delivery mechanisms. Aspects of the devices described include a noise-generation mechanism to indicate the completion of drug delivery, a mechanism for triggering drug delivery following needle insertion, front-end activation of the device and a safety mechanism for covering the needle after use and methods of assembly of the devices.

A high-slidability syringe has high safety and sealability over a long period of time. The syringe includes a gasket having a lower sliding resistance to a syringe barrel. The syringe includes: a syringe barrel; a gasket adapted to be press-fitted in the syringe barrel and used in a sliding manner in the syringe barrel; and a piston rod with the gasket attached to a front end thereof. The gasket includes: a gasket main body that is formed of a rigid plastic having resistance to a drug solution to be loaded into the syringe barrel and has a recessed groove formed in a sliding contact surface thereof adapted to slidably contact an inner circumferential surface of the syringe barrel; and a sliding contact ring that is fitted in the recessed groove.

Plunging apparatus for syringe

A plunging apparatus for a syringe is applied to connect with a driving assembly of an injection device and a medicine vial. The plunging apparatus has a pushing element connected with a connection element by a unidirectional check element. The rear end of the connection element is connected with a pushing rod. The front end of the pushing rod has an ejection element and a spring. A threaded collar is mounted around the pushing rod, and an injection rod is mounted in the pushing rod. The connection element is inserted into a rear opening of the medicine vial. Engagement hooks on the ejection element can be pressed by medicine vial. The spring forces the ejection element to move forward to push the pushing element to abut the piston. Accordingly, the medicine vial can be used immediately after being combined with the injection device without discharging air manually.
