In one aspect, a combinatorial drug delivery device is provided herein including: a plurality of serially connectable modules, each including at least one drug component; and, a master controller having a computing processing unit. Each of the modules includes: a non-transitory memory having stored therein an address and an alphanumeric code representative of the at least one drug component contained in the corresponding drug module; a secondary controller operatively linked to the memory of the corresponding module; and, at least one communication bus connectable in series with the communication buses of the modules serially connected with the corresponding module. The master controller is configured to serially interrogate the secondary controllers over the serially-connected communication buses, using the addresses, to request the codes of the corresponding modules. Advantageously, the subject invention provides for a system to confirm the accuracy of drugs provided with the device and the correct sequencing thereof.

SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING ACCURACY OF SERIALLY-CONNECTED DRUG MODULES IN A COMBINATORIAL DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE USING VOLTAGE

A combinatorial drug delivery device is provided herein including: a plurality of serially connectable modules, each including at least one drug component; and, a master controller. Each of the modules includes: a power line; a ground line; a multiplexer having a plurality of identified input channels, at least a subset of the input channels being selectively connected to one of the power and ground lines; a first digital logic line configured to select the input channels; a voltage reference line having a first resistor in line with an output of the multiplexer; a branch line connected to the voltage reference line having a normally closed switch thereon to connect the branch line to the ground line, the switch being opened with connection to a further module. The master controller selects, in sequence, the same identified input channels across all of the modules with measuring a reference voltage thereacross.

ALTERNATIVE FLUIDIC PATHING FOR SERIALLY CONNECTABLE DRUG MODULES

Various embodiments are disclosed herein related to fluidic connections for modules useable in combinatorial drug delivery devices. The fluidic connections allow for variable flow paths to be defined for serially-connected, and base-tray mounted, modules.

FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF TREATMENT

The disclosed systems and methods are configurable central nervous system (CNS) delivery solutions for therapeutics, such as genetic medicines. The systems and methods first infuse a therapeutic bolus within intrathecal space and subsequently infuse a flush fluid to move the therapeutic bolus rostrally toward a target area and achieve a desired spread in the spine and/or brain. The second location can be at a location caudal to the delivery location of the therapeutic bolus.
