Method for controlling flow in a bodily organ
09814561 · 2017-11-14 ·

There is provided a method for controlling a flow of fluid and/or other bodily matter in a lumen formed by a tissue wall of a patient's organ. The method comprises gently constricting (i.e., without substantially hampering the blood circulation in the tissue wall) at least one portion of the tissue wall to influence the flow in the lumen, and stimulating the constricted wall portion to cause contraction of the wall portion to further influence the flow in the lumen. The method can be used for restricting or stopping the flow in the lumen, or for actively moving the fluid in the lumen, with a low risk of injuring the organ. Such an organ may be the esophagus, stomach, intestines, urine bladder, urethra, ureter, renal pelvis, aorta, corpus cavernosum, exit veins of erectile tissue, uterine tube, vas deferens or bile duct, or a blood vessel.

METHODS AND DEVICES FOR TREATING ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION
20220134099 · 2022-05-05 · ·

Methods and devices for treating erectile dysfunction are disclosed. Methods are aimed at reducing blood outflow from penile tissue by delivering energy to specific penile tissue that controls blood outflow from the penile tissue and causing remodeling of the specific penile tissue. Devices may be configured to generate RF energy and to apply the generated RF energy to a penis to thereby elevate a temperature of internal penile tissue above a predetermined temperature value while maintaining a penile surface below a predetermined temperature threshold. The predetermined temperature value may be set to initiate synthesis and/or a regeneration of collagen fibers in a collagen-rich penile connective tissue and/or to increase oxygenation of endothelial cells, initiate angiogenesis and neovascularization in a vascular penile tissue. Additionally, electrical penile stimulation is disclosed, possibly applicable in conjuncture with the erectile dysfunction treatment.

SYSTEM FOR ELECTRICAL STIMULATION OF NERVES

In a system for electrical stimulation of nerves of a living being a pulse generator is configured to provide a sequence of electrical and/or vibration pulses to at least one electrode and/or vibration generator that are maintained in close proximity to the nerve of interest with the use of means for securing the electrode to the skin or tissue of the living being.

The present invention relates to a preoperative test method, to an implantation system (20) and to an implantation method for implanting a neuroprosthesis in the area of the pubic bone (31), wherein implantation is ultimately simplified and made more effective directly or indirectly by the subject-matters of the invention.

Systems, devices, and methods for ovarian denervation

Methods for effectuating ovarian denervation include advancing a disruptor intravaginally to access an ovarian nerve and applying the disruptor to the ovarian nerve to denervate the ovarian nerve to limit ovarian sympathetic neural activity and control hormonal secretion.

URINARY PUMPING DEVICE

An urinary pumping device for generating a fluid flow through a urethra of a patient includes an activation arrangement configured to induce intermittent compression and release of the urethra, and a mounting structure to mount and unmount the activation arrangement to a body of the patient. The mounting structure is configured to position the activation arrangement on the body of the patient such that the urethra of the patient can be intermittently compressed and released by the activation arrangement.

Systems, devices, methods, and techniques are described for phase misalignment correction for evoked compound action potential (ECAP) measurement from alternating polarity stimulation. An example system includes processing circuitry that receives a first ECAP signal elicited by a first polarity configuration of stimulus electrodes and receives a second ECAP signal elicited by a second polarity configuration of the stimulus electrodes opposite the first polarity configuration. The processing circuitry also generates an adjusted second ECAP signal by temporally aligning at least a portion of the second ECAP signal to at least a portion of the first ECAP signal, and generates a composite ECAP signal based on the first ECAP signal and the adjusted second ECAP signal. Additionally, the processing circuitry outputs the composite ECAP signal.
