The high intensity focused ultrasound device comprising: a gripping part constituting a part of an outer housing of the high intensity focused ultrasound device and forming a grippable shape by a user; and an action part positioned at least partially on an extension line of a vertical cross-section of the gripping part and transmitting high intensity focused ultrasound generated from the high intensity focused ultrasound device to an outside.
SYSTEM FOR SKIN CANCER TREATMENT USING LOW INTENSITY ULTRASOUND
The present invention relates to a system for skin cancer treatment using low intensity ultrasound. The system comprises an ultrasound transducer, a temperature sensing unit, and a control unit. The temperature sensing unit measures the temperature of the skin being exposed to ultrasound and provides temperature data to the control unit, which controls the ultrasound transducer accordingly.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PULMONARY INTERVENTIONS
Apparatus and methods for deactivating bronchial nerves extending along the secondary bronchial branches of a mammalian subject to treat asthma and related conditions. An ultrasonic transducer (11) is inserted into the bronchus as, for example, by advancing the distal end of a catheter (10) bearing the transducer into the secondary bronchial section to be treated. The ultrasonic transducer emits circumferential ultrasound so as to heat tissues throughout circular impact volume (13) as, for example, at least about 1 cm.sup.3 encompassing the bronchus to a temperature sufficient to inactivate nerve conduction but insufficient to cause rapid ablation or necrosis of the tissues. The treatment can be performed without locating or focusing on individual bronchial nerves. The apparatus and methods utilized for lung tumor ablation.
ZERO VERGENCE ULTRASOUND WAVES FOR SONODYNAMIC THERAPY
Disclosed are methods of obtaining zero vergence ultrasound waves for providing sonodynamic therapy with ultrasound waves. The method includes coupling a sonodynamic therapy device with an array of flat piezoelectric transducers to a skin surface. A controller is configured to generate an electrical drive signal at a frequency, modulate the drive signal, and drive the transducer with the modulated drive signal at the frequency to produce a zero vergence ultrasound wave to produce an average acoustic intensity sufficient to activate a sonosensitizer in a treatment region without damaging healthy cells in the treatment region.
Ultrasonic processing apparatus comprising means for imaging cavitation bubbles
An ultrasonic processing apparatus is provided. The ultrasonic processing apparatus comprises an ultrasonic therapy transducer (ATA) adapted to generate focused ultrasonic waves; an ultrasonic imaging transducer (UID) connected to the ultrasonic therapy transducer; and an electronic system configured to control the ultrasonic therapy transducer so as to emit a pulse train of ultrasonic waves generating a cloud of cavitation bubbles (BC); control the ultrasonic imaging transducer so as to acquire at least one image of the region to be processed; acquire a plurality of echo signals of ultrasonic wave pulses emitted by the ultrasonic therapy transducer captured by the ultrasonic imaging transducer; process the plurality of echo signals so as to reconstruct an image of the cloud of cavitation bubbles; and display said image of the cloud of cavitation bubbles superposed on said image of the region to be processed. The processing includes spatio-temporal filtering.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING (MRI)-GUIDED PROCEDURES
Disclosed herein are devices, systems, and methods for use in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided procedure in which focused energy is applied to an area of interest of a subject. Disclosed herein are coupling baths comprising an aqueous solution comprising a plurality of paramagnetic particles dispersed in water, wherein, when magnetic resonance images are collected from the area of interest of the subject for MRI guidance: the coupling bath is located proximate to the area of interest, and the composition, the average particle size, the shape, the concentration, the presence or absence of the capping layer, the identity of the plurality of ligands when the capping layer is present, the average thickness of the capping layer when the capping layer is present, or a combination thereof is/are selected such that the coupling bath reduces or prevents imaging artifacts in the magnetic resonance images for the MRI guidance.
