Recumbent exercise machines and associated systems and methods
The present disclosure is directed to recumbent exercise machines and associated systems and methods. In one embodiment, for example, a recumbent exercise apparatus can include a seat, two linear guide tracks forward of the seat, and two pedal assemblies movably coupled to corresponding linear guide tracks positioned forward of the seat. The pedal assemblies can be configured to move back and forth along the linear guide tracks. The recumbent exercise apparatus can further include linear actuators operably coupled to each of the linear guide tracks and configured to move the linear guide tracks up and down in a vertical direction. The pedal assemblies can be configured to move in elliptical patterns when the pedal assemblies move back and forth along the linear guide tracks and the linear actuators move the linear guide tracks up and down.
Exercise devices having damped joints and related methods
An exercise device may comprise at least one joint. The at least one joint may comprise at least one first surface positioned adjacent to at least one second surface, the at least one second surface movable relative to the at least one first surface at at least one interface. A damping grease having a dynamic viscosity greater than about 100 Pascal seconds at standard temperature and pressure may be positioned at the at least one interface between the at least one first surface and the at least one second surface of the at least one joint.
Electricity generating system
An electricity generating system using fitness equipment, wherein the fitness equipment can be used to produce electricity with a generator. The electricity produced can be transferred from the generator to a splitter. A controller can be used to receive identifications and decisions on transfer of the produced electricity from a fitness center. The controller can be used to track in real time electricity produced as watts or as amperage associated with a user identification, a fitness class identification, or an administrator identification input less than 10 minutes before the electricity is produced or at a preset time, which can then transfer in real time energy credits equivalent to electricity produced or transfer produced electricity to a destination designed in the a user decision, a fitness class decision, or an administrator decision.
Exercise methods and apparatus
A variable stride exercise apparatus may provide a novel linkage assembly and corresponding exercise apparatus suitable for linking circular motion to relatively more complex, generally elliptical motion. Left and right cranks are rotatably mounted on a frame. A foot supporting linkage is movably connected between a rocker and the left and right cranks in such a manner that may provide a variable paths of motion controlled by a user of the apparatus.
APPARATUS FOR NATURAL TORSO AND LIMBS TRACKING AND FEEDBACK FOR ELECTRONIC INTERACTION
An apparatus for natural torso and limbs tracking and feedback for electronic interaction with fall safety support. The apparatus comprises a body harness worn on the body of a user, a support structure designed to bear the weight of the user in the event of a stumble, trip, or fall, and a plurality of tethers attached at one end to the harness and at the other end to the support structure. One or more sensors are integrated into the system to measure aspects of the user's movement and used as input to control a computer system. In the event of stumble, trip, or fall, all of, or a portion of, the user's body weight is borne by the tethers as a safety mechanism to prevent injury. The system is designed to be used with virtual reality systems wherein the user's vision is blocked or obscured by a virtual reality visor.
Body joystick for interacting with virtual reality or mixed reality machines or software applications
A system and method for using a body joystick to interact with a virtual or mixed-reality machines or software applications that uses a support arm to hold a device for attaching the body joystick to a user's body, a sensor for detecting movement, and a tether and actuator for providing feedback to the user about interactions with the virtual or mixed-reality machines or software applications.
Exercise apparatus
The present disclosure relates to an exercise apparatus. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to an apparatus operated by hand which comprises a base upon which extend frame supports for the seat unit, resistance unit, crank unit, and guide unit. Embodiments provide for a crank to be mounted to the base and frame and wherein the crank is connected to first and second actuating rods via a coupling. The actuating rods are slidably connected at one end via a guide pivotally mounted to the frame and have a free end for a user to grip.
Combination therapeutic and exercise single board elliptical-motion device
An exercise device including a base having a channel formed therein, and a wheel rotatably connected to the base. The exercise device additionally includes a support link having a first end portion slidably connected to the channel and a second end portion pivotally connected to the wheel. The exercise device further comprises a single platform having an upper surface sized to support both feet of a user. The single platform is connected to the support link such that the single platform moves in concert with the support link. A first rotation member is coupled to the single platform and configured to rotate relative to the single platform about a first rotation axis generally perpendicular to the upper surface.
COMBINATION THERAPEUTIC AND EXERCISE SINGLE BOARD ELLIPTICAL-MOTION DEVICE
An exercise device comprising a base having a channel formed therein, and a wheel rotatably connected to the base.
Combination stationary exercise equipment
A modular exercise apparatus comprising a frame, a common drivetrain supported by the frame and including a common axle, a plurality of input receivers coupled to the common axle, and a resistance member operably coupled to the common axle and operable to provide resistance against rotation of the common axle, a first exercise attachment including a first drive member operably coupled to a first input receiver of the plurality of input receivers of the common drivetrain, and a second exercise attachment including a second drive member operably coupled to a second input receiver of the plurality of input receivers of the common drivetrain.
