An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball having high visibility and excellent orientation at shot. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a core and a cover disposed outside of the core, wherein a surface of the golf ball has a first region with a first color and a second region with a second color, the first color has hue H1 represented by H value in HSL color space, the second color has hue H2 represented by H value in HSL color space, and the H1 and the H2 satisfy the following mathematical formula (1): 60<|H1−H2|<300 (1).

An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball having high visibility and little uncomfortableness at shot. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a core and a cover disposed outside of the core, wherein a surface of the golf ball has a first region with a first color and a second region with a second color, the first color has hue H1 represented by H value in HSL color space, the second color has hue H2 represented by H value in HSL color space, and the H1 and the H2 satisfy a specific mathematical formula.

Provided are a golf ball and a resin composition for a cover or topcoat thereof which can suppress the yellowing of the golf ball caused by ultraviolet rays even if a naturally derived substance is used as an ultraviolet absorber, and they are environmentally and human friendly. A resin composition for a cover or topcoat of a golf ball of the present invention contains: a resin for a cover or topcoat; and a plant-derived extract which absorbs ultraviolet rays. The resin composition has a color difference ΔE of 10.0 or less in a Lab color system between before and after a color tone change test, the color tone change test being carried out by irradiating a film formed from the resin composition with a xenon lamp. In the golf ball of the present invention, the cover or the topcoat is formed by using the resin composition.

Provided are a golf ball which has a surface that sparkles when exposed to ultraviolet rays even if a naturally derived substance is used as a fluorescent material, and it is environmentally and human friendly, and a resin composition for a cover or a topcoat therefor. A resin composition for a cover or a topcoat of a golf ball of the present invention includes: a resin for a cover or a topcoat; and a plant-derived or alga-derived extract which emits light using an absorbed light as an energy source, as a fluorescent material. In the golf ball of the present invention, the cover or the topcoat is formed by using such a resin composition.

Golf balls having covers with decorative-effect coatings are provided. The golf balls are fashionable and decorative with unique appearances. In one embodiment, a golf ball comprising a core having at least one layer and cover having at least one layer is provided. The outer cover surface can have surface textured dimples and a decorative-effect first coating can be applied to this outer surface. A transparent second coating can be applied over the decorative-effect coating. In another embodiment, a semi-transparent metallic first coating overlies the outer cover surface and a decorative-effect second coating overlies the metallic coating.

A golf ball comprising a subassembly such as a cover and a coating layer disposed entirely about an outer surface of the subassembly; wherein the coating layer has a first color region, a second color region, and a transition color region that is transitionally disposed between the first color region and the second color region. The first color region has a first color appearance; the second color region has a second color appearance that is different than the first color appearance; and the transition color region has a transitional color appearance that is comprised of the first color appearance and the second color appearance. The transitional color region may be disposed circumferentially about the outer surface of the cover.

The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a core, at least one intermediate layer covering the core, and a cover covering the intermediate layer, wherein the golf ball surface has a first region with a first color and a second region with a second color, and when a color difference between a surface of an outermost layer of the intermediate layer and the first region of the golf ball surface is represented by ΔEms1, and a color difference between the surface of the outermost layer of the intermediate layer and the second region of the golf ball surface is represented by ΔEms2, ΔEms2/ΔEms1≥4.0 and ΔEms1≤20 are satisfied.

In a golf ball having a core, a cover, at least one intermediate layer therebetween, and a coating layer on the cover, the cover is formed of a transparent or translucent resin composition and the intermediate layer is formed of a resin composition. The sphere consisting of the core encased by the intermediate layer has specific lightness and chroma values in the Lab color space. The coating layer is composed of one or more layer, at least one of which contains an effect pigment having polarizing properties. Markings are provided inside of the coating layer and have a specific L value. During use, the ball retains a visual to familiarity close to that of a white ball. Up close, it is clearly discernible from a white ball; from a distance, it appears white and is highly visible.
