Methods are described for controlling movement of dice in a gaming system. The gaming system includes an input device controllable by a user and a platform for holding the dice. The platform may be moved up and down by a drive to cause the dice to be moved upward and thrown above the surface of the platform. Data received from the input device may be used to determine the upward motion of the platform. The data may include the distance a user is from the input device. The data may also include how hard, how far and/or how fast a user pushes the input device. Data received from the input device may not be used to determine the upward motion of the platform. The time at which the platform may be moved may be randomly determined.

Dice Shaker Device

A dice shaker device and method for providing a randomized state of at least one die. The dice shaker device includes a dice plate, a dice plate actuator configured to apply a reciprocating force to the dice plate, a casing, a circumferential ridge surface extending around an outer perimeter of the dice plate, and a dice rolling space at least partly defined by the casing, the dice plate, and the circumferential ridge surface. The circumferential ridge surface can be arranged in parallel with an upper surface of the dice plate, and the circumferential ridge surface can have a width that is equal to or less than half a width of the at least one die that the dice shaker device is arranged to provide a randomized state of.

System and method for regulating dice strokes in gaming system

Methods, systems, and devices are described herein for controlling movement of a platform for rolling at least one dice in a gaming system. In one aspect, a method for controlling movement of a platform for rolling at least one dice in a gaming system is described. In one aspect, a method for controlling movement of a dice includes causing a platform holding at least one dice to move upward with a first force. The method may further include causing the platform to move downward a first distance or over a first period of time. The method may additionally include causing the platform to move upward with a second force, with a height that the dice moves upward being configured by selecting at least one of the first force, the first distance, the first period of time, or the second force.

A dice cup used for rolling dice and randomizing the markings shown on the upper side of dice. The dice cup has a flat base and a circumferential side wall that forms a hollow annular shape with a top aperture and that attaches to the base to form a closed bottom. The diameter of the bottom is greater than the diameter of the aperture, whereby the circumferential side wall tapers outward from the aperture to the closed end. Rolling and randomization of the markings on the upper side of the dice is caused by interaction between the dice and (1) protrusions extending upward from the upper surface of the base that have a predetermined size that cause the one or more cubic dice placed inside the dice cup to rest on the corners of each dice, and/or (2) raised surface features on the tapered interior of the side wall.
