Connection system for suspended loads for ride systems

A connector system, ride system and method for connecting and supporting a suspended load. The system includes a suspended carrier having a first connector part and a suspended load support, arranged and disposed to support a suspended load, the suspended load support having a second connector part. A first magnetic coupler is affixed to the suspended carrier and a second magnetic coupler is affixed to the suspended load support. The first magnetic coupler includes a first arrangement of magnets and the second magnetic coupler includes a second arrangement of magnets. The first arrangement of magnets is selectively arranged and disposed to provide alignment and detachable engagement to the magnets of the second arrangement of magnets. The first connector part and the second connector part releasably engage to connect the suspended carrier to the suspended load support and permit transmission of motion, power, signal and at least one utility from the suspended carrier to the suspended load support.

In one aspect, a system for people to simulate flying motion may include a plurality of supporting posts, one or more control units, and each of the control unit is connected to the user's body through a string, and a sensor is disposed on each string. The sensor can detect the tension change of the string and transmit the signal to the control unit to adjust the tension accordingly. When the user moves the wings, the change of the tension can be detected by the sensor and transmitted to the control unit to further adjust the tension of each string by pulling or releasing the strings to enable the user to enjoy the flying motion.

AERIAL NAVIGATION SYSTEM

An aerial navigation system comprises four anchor points mounted on top of four upright members respectively at substantially same height from a ground, a carrier device coupled to a first set of four electric motors mounted at the four anchor points through a set of first wires. The set of first wires, the four upright members and the ground effectively define a volume. The carrier device is moveable in a bounded horizontal plane defined by the four anchor points. A robotic device is suspended from the carrier device using a second wire and moves vertically relative to the carrier device through activation of a fifth electric motor. A control unit is coupled to the first set of four electric motors and the fifth electric motor for controlling the three-dimensional movement of the robotic device to permit navigation from a current location to a target location inside the defined volume.

NAVIGATION CONTROL SYSTEM FOR STATIONARY OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE

A navigation control system for an aerial robotic device suspended from a carrier device in an aerial movement volume of an aerial module. The navigation control system is configured to detect one or more stationary obstacles located in corresponding Aerial Movement Volume, create a 3D map representing the Aerial Movement Volume together with one or more bounding boxes enclosing each stationary obstacle in the Aerial Movement Volume, use an optimisation algorithm to compute an optimal route for the aerial robotic device, determine control parameters for a plurality of electric stepper motors driving the carrier device and the aerial robotic device based on the computed optimal route for the aerial robotic device, and navigate the aerial robotic device in accordance with the computed optimal route to enable the aerial robotic device to reach the required destination while avoiding intervening stationary obstacles.

A performer lift has abase portion (10) and an extension portion (12). The base portion (10) comprises a platform (16) and a lifting mechanism (18). The extension portion (12) is attachable to the base portion (10) to extend the height of the performer lift. The extension portion (12) allows a performer lift to be provided having a desired height. The performer lift can therefore be adapted to be used in different stage sets, by reusing the same base portion (10) and attaching different extension portions (12), having different heights.

Though no cables are involved, by combining the motions of lift and rotate and without any further equipment, an immersive theater system comprising the seat moving machine still employs seating that is suspended.
